A) Why wasn't it planned better?
B) Why wasn't LD really aware of it when I talked to him about it?
C) Why is it so biased?

A) Because neither me nor Synth is psychic and realized that 192 people would sign up in 12 hours
B) LD is busy as hell and isn't aware of everything the day it happens, I organized this directly with Synth
C) It's not biased toward anyone, only the signups were biased because of the HUGE rush of people we got

If it's an official tournament for cash on a website of over one million users, how do you NOT expect it to be a rush?

You should have set up some kind of qualifiers. It would cut down the list quite a bit.

And which I totally agree with Shash.
The more dedicated ffr players should have semi-reserved spots.. In which im not saying that every spot should be reserved for them, but a selected few should be allowed to have a spot reserved.

If it's an official tournament for cash on a website of over one million users, how do you NOT expect it to be a rush?

You should have set up some kind of qualifiers. It would cut down the list quite a bit.

Next time there will be way more spots open so that this doesn't happen.

Personally I think it's a tournament....In which case if you don't come fast enough you don't get a spot. No one should really have a special spot reserved for them, regardless if Jesus himself was playing from his lap top....

It just keeps it fair for those who may not have been playing as long or just aren't as good.

may i ask, what songs won't be played in teh advanced division? like im geusing pants won't be played in advanced, but what else?

and what would the general difficulty of songs be ?

It just keeps it fair for those who may not have been playing as long or just aren't as good.

The goal is to keep all the divisions competitive. Without reserved spots in Expert, it won't be competitive, and Expert would be more like "hey Bahamut have $100" than an actually competitive division.

Not everything has to be first-come-first-serve...the people who've worked at and practiced the game enough to be able to compete in Expert should get to, even if they didn't happen to show up between 2 AM and 1 PM on a sunday night.

Well then you should say that those people will get to compete regardless of the rules you set for everyone else, since they are obviously above those.

I personally don't have a problem either way, but in the fairness of those others that didn't get the chance to sign up and STILL have to sit out after you let someone in, it seems a bit unfair. Granted I understand the concept behind it all, but still the fairness of it is missing.

Retroactive response to a massive amount of signups that I never expected. At that point, fairness to all took a backseat to keeping the tournament competitive.

Next time, it'll be announced beforehand.

There's really nothing to "win" anyway...lol, nothin's gonna change about the current tournament, and the next one will be done a lot better anyway since we'll have some prior experience with it =P
