Re: Argument for Rates >X1.0
i doubt many people got pianocore by legitimately playing every and each song fully they only need to hit one arrow then die and move on to the next song iirc
it's a yes from me on higher rates leaderboards, moreover i would enjoy seeing the highest rated AAA ontop of the leaderboards instead of first person to AAA"humans are allergic to happiness" -exurb1a
"the only successful prank is the one you just dont f***ing pull" - penguinz0
"Happiness is an unachievable myth peddled by those too afraid to admit that the world's default state is misery" - exurb1a

Re: Argument for Rates >X1.0
Letting the score save = entirely doable
Having separate rate leaderboards = fraught with too many issues
Having rates give you a better/different rank than the same score on 1.0 = see aboveComment

Re: Argument for Rates >X1.0
This is a valid argument. However, I think that anything that can be changed about the game which would result in more players engaging with and enjoying the easier half of the game would be a good thing (FFR could use more players!)
IMO, I would spend much more time with the game if rated scores >1.0 were recorded, and I'm sure many others would as well.
Take that with a grain of salt though since I am biased; I don't attribute much significance to the average rank leaderboard. If I had dedicated boat-loads of time to grind average rank rank, then I might have a different opinion on the matter. However, I don't think that that is a good enough reason to make the mods hesitate to make any changes that could boost overall player engagement.

Re: Argument for Rates >X1.0
I dunno, I guess I just don't get this considering that the game the popularized rates didn't record scores at all, so why should this be true.
If it's actually a shared opinion then I guess it doesn't matter too much.Originally posted by [11:38 PM] Hakulyteonly person who can legit tilt me is like YoshLOriginally posted by スンファンさん右に3回回らない限り間違います。Comment

Re: Argument for Rates >X1.0
Just echoing again that all I really want from rates scores is for them to save the score as if it was a 1.0 score when it is higher than 1.0. If it is lower than 1.0, then ok, no deal.
If the argument is about Tokens then hahahahahComment

Re: Argument for Rates >X1.0
man lol i worked hard for a long time playing every song on 1.0 to get my avg rank down and to unlock certain tokens so a part of me wants others to have to put in that same effort/time. but i can definitely understand where you guys are coming from. either way i play on flash 9 so rates are always gonna be at 1.0 for me

Re: Argument for Rates >X1.0
Saying allowing higher rates would cheapen the achievement of getting PianoCore/Game Genie/whatever isn't a good argument. Even with higher rates, it's still going to take a long time to play every song, particularly if you're going for AAAs, and I wouldn't exactly call slogging through that endless queue of 4-minute-long snoozefest low-level rock songs "character building".
There are maybe 20 songs of difficulty <70 I haven't AAA'd, and that's a project I've chipped away at off and on for a couple of years, never spending too much time on in one sitting so I wouldn't burn myself out or start to find it unenjoyable. Allowing higher rates would preserve the spirit of the endeavor while letting everyone pick their own pace at which to go through it, and allowing the purists to play everything at 1.0 still.

Re: Argument for Rates >X1.0
I'm all for this and similar ideas that bring old players back and keep current ones interested in the game
not to mention yeah I can't see this actually making files any /easier/ outside of a couple. If necessary I can't imagine it'd be too hard to create a very limited list of these exceptions that can't be "rated". "Rating" would be an advanced enough feature that the added complexity (of the player having to check the forums or read some post that says which songs can't be "rated") wouldn't confuse a new user (like we have any more of these anyway)
It's too quiet right now to start worrying about the iNtEgRitY oF mUh PiAnOCoRe ToKeN, to which devonin raises a very good question mark anyway
let's do it
edit: if it helps you naysayers, pretend it's a game mod like drunk or tornado or somethingLast edited by VisD; 07-6-2019, 02:03 PM.

Re: Argument for Rates >X1.0
the entire argument against this is the reason id use it lol, not gonna lie
"its tedious to AAA all the easy ass files that are 3 mins long but have 50 notes so u might as well play them on 3.0x"
theres honestly no other benefit to it recording other than this. if ur going for high rank, then its not like ur gonna suddenly 1.1x a level 100+ song lol, so its irrelevant for thatComment

I think it's actually pretty dubious that it'd increase game interest but I'm not super invested in shooting this down.Originally posted by [11:38 PM] Hakulyteonly person who can legit tilt me is like YoshLOriginally posted by スンファンさん右に3回回らない限り間違います。Comment
