I don't even want to say this, but it seems like Devs are visibly the ones with little to no transparency along with Admins coming into thread or saying words that doesn't result in actions. I'm not bashing Devs specifically here, but it is visibly one of the biggest problems with Staff.

The real problem for devs and why much isn't being said is because there isn't any active devs for FFR anymore. Of the single Dev (Prawnskunk), everyone else is working actual jobs and don't give much thought into FFR once the day is over. If and when something does happen, it will most likely get posted in the thread. The same can be said about Admins which really only applies to Synthlight but his absence isn't anything new nor suprising.

iirc I heard somewhere that two devs were apparently joining the team but I have two problems with that.

1) Do these Devs know the current standing of the Staff Structure? Do they know exactly what Staff is like for FFR?

2) Are they going to be silent and in the back like most devs (excluding PrawnSkunk)? Are they going to even last for a healthy duration where the new devs actually get things done?

Similar to qqwref; he is qualified to join Development Staff due to his Saffron Engine work but doesn't want involvement in Staff due to his own reasons (logical reasons might I add such as Staff being in huge disarray).

Dossar deserves a lot of props and big ups for being one of the only people to display a lot of transparency because of this thread and it led to the Weekly Batch Updates, the Hard Songs Batch, and other things he is working on. Other people have mentions too (Prawn fixing Replays is huge) along with those whom I don't know what is going on because they aren't disclosing information to the playerbase/public.

Also more on this, would it be beneficial to start opening Staff Applications for assorted branches? There are people here who are more than capable of doing a staff duty (and it'd be up to them to sign up for it), but I feel like Staff is still tight nit in the sense they don't think adding more people is going to solve problems when they are wrong; it'll surely help in any aspect that the current staff is incapable of achieving.

Hi19 stepping up helped too and I'm not sure what he has planned but at least he's transparent, brutally honest, and still getting shit done.

The sad reality then in this situation is that we need more or new devs. There's no harm in not being able to devote time to FFR. The problem comes when the site is stagnant due to nobody being able to devote time to it.

Honestly I'm able to devote time to FFR (occasionally) but I've frankly completely given up at this point.

I have a list of people who are more than capable of doing certain staff duties but they aren't looking for "help" apparently when it's really obvious they need it.

One of the best recommendations I probably have is Icy being a Simfile Judge.

The problem with current staff is time and transparency, but are we really forgetting the daily users (by literal means, DAILY) who hope to help in any way but are never given the opportunity?

Would just like to add, I'm more than willing to help in any area possible. Just give me a task, I don't care if it's tedious or extremely boring. I don't wanna see this site die. I'm assuming there aren't many tasks to do that don't require some knowledge in coding or judging, but if there is something easy and no one else wants to do it, I'm open.

I'm thinking of opening up a few potential web development opportunities in the next few days that will be guided learning experiences and also benefit the site in some way (e.g. FFR Wiki progress visual). There's some sprint planning I'm doing that will be covering this and the projects will be on a different site (like the Batch Search Engine isn't on FFR) -- more details to come later.

Was trying to wait until more things were talked about but since it seems we're never going to hear anything, would you let us all know why you were given the game management title? I don't recall seeing it being addressed and been curious as to what exactly the deal was with that.
