Oh just to put this to rest, FFR's RATO chart is NOT accurately stepped. Nowhere close.
Fucking ghost notes everywhere, apparently a faint "whooshing" sound calls for 48th walls.
And some of the 48th walls that aren't totally BS are still BS because they should only be 32nds.

                  Re: DP/RATO move to tokens?

Forgive me if this has been explained already as I have not bothered myself to read the whole thread, but Token ranks are not the place to move these.

(However, I do agree they need to be removed from public ranking, and I have no issues with them being made Tokens.)

You all may see that as contradicting, but here is my reasoning: just because "no one cares about token ranks" does not mean you can dump the "trash" (not in a literal sense of charts, but in terms of a rank wrecking chart such as Party 4 U V2.)

If they are made into Tokens, that is fine with me, but don't just use the above mentioned excuse as a means of "cleaning" the public ranks. There are a lot of charts within the public ranking, that honestly wreck a lot of user's ranks such as the Legacy genre as a whole.

In best case scenario, I would more recommend you make them into Tokens, but if possible, also "hide" the rankings from affecting either set of ranks. All charts in Legacy, and the aforementioned Death Piano and RATO, wreck ranks.

However, this argument could be moved to higher end charts in the 95+ range, but to be honest, I would rather see this used in special cases such as ridiculous charts that exceed bounderies, or the exception of the poorest made (though not entirely the author's fault) charts within the game.

Charts I purpose to receive this treatment would be:

ALL Legacy charts. This includes any in purchased and secret, even if they cannot be moved from those respective genres.
                  Death Piano
                  RATO
                  Vertex Beta vROFL

                  Possible additions:

Any chart above & including difficulty 96
Exclusive Tokens (Such as Fractured Sunshine and Disconnected as examples, and including future additions.)

The reasoning for these possible additions is merely where the line of "absurdity" is drawn. "Absurdity" in this case being a chart that is borderline impossible to score a "AAA" in which you "perfect" all the notes within the song. I also included event exclusives simply because of their nature of being "exclusive." For the sake of properly managing ranks, not due to the chart or music on their own. When I say this, every Skill Token and Token can reasonably be obtained by any and all users given enough time and dedication. These "exclusive" tokens cannot always, as they require precise requirements that are not entirely within a player's control, and even then in the near future could easily not be given out anymore should the staff chose. (Of course this one is highly subjective, and I am not entirely for or against it, I feel this is more of a public choice.)

the only songs that are improbable to AAA are rato/vrofl

                      And CP.
Ranked by urgency to be removed from public ranks:
                      RATO
                      CP
                      DP
Legacy files (Whole different can of worms here, that's an argument for another thread.

Highly disagree with CP having less priority than RATO. CP is almost impossible to AAA, let alone FC just by vibrating. You have to use another style to actually make it easier and I feel that forcing a player to use a different style that's not used normally by anyone (DS or overlay) is rather silly to begin with.

Switching CP v2 with the original one would be a great idea though.

EDIT: Also going to say that RATO is theoretically possible to AAA, every part of RATO is AAAable but the luck factor with the file is ridiculous. It's improbable to AAA yes, but it's not impossible at all. Same with DP, but it's more about getting all into one run (a la Husigi) more than just hoping to get lucky at the 32nd/48th walls in RATO.

Any reasons to get rid of Legacy files though? They don't really cause that much trouble to levelranks, it's pretty comparable to extremely long easy songs to begin with, just offsync. There are a couple of Legacy files that are actually pretty challenging and would be good for levelranks to begin with, such as One Minute Waltz or Molto Vivace.

Yea I'm not going into a lot of detail with the legacy files, being a bit off topic, and there's been a long thread about that before. I'd be ok with those either way honestly, that's why I put them at the bottom.

I don't see much of a reason to talk about the legacy files either ://
CP seems like it would be okay to move out of level ranks though
