I think that RATO should be moved to token, but death piano should stay in the public ranks. Although I can't even FC DP by mashing (only cuz of that ridiculous ending trill) I don't think that DP is a joke file as most seem to think. It's simply a very difficult piano song with a very difficult chart to go with it. RATO on the other hand sounds like I opened up a cupboard and a 100 pots and pans fell out. In other words it's a pretty shitty song. I think DP should stay and become a 99 in the public ranks, while RATO moves to token and becomes a 98.
On a slightly different note I personally think that if DP and RATO get moved, so should Crowdpleaser because that is a ridiculous file and I think it's somewhat of a joke. A very low percent of the community can vibrate and if you can't vibrate it's impossible to even FC that song.Comment

Well obviously it wasn't serious. And mi40, I think it's because I've ascended to a high enough level of math that I like to try to prove everything. And it doesn't mesh well with the way most people think. I really should try to avoid being that way around most people. Thanks for helping me realize that.
Edit: And crowdpleaser can go away as far as I'm concerned. It'd also have to be easy to unlock since it has been public for so long. It really is the one file that I really thought wouldn't have been able to get into the game by the standards they had when it was accepted.Last edited by Doug31; 07-22-2013, 04:10 PM.

Hypothesis: Ranks on RATO and DP are not an accurate representation of skill

Solution: Move the two files everyone needs to mash to token files

Hi yes we're moving these (probably within a day or so if I can get someone to code the requirements) great okay.
New thread topic, swap Revo and CP with their token counterparts, i.e. v2s become public and v1s become tokens. Yay or nay? Or just CP?

Going to the other two files mentioned:
Crowdpleaser: The swap should absolutely be done.
However, things get a little more complicated with Revolutionary Etude. It resides within an entirely different file genre -- legacy. Swapping the files would conflict with its legacy placement, so that would require something to happen to the legacy genre. Unless of course Revolutionary Etude gets placed in a different genre (e.g. classical) and then the blue note file becomes a token.Originally posted by hi19hi19Comment

In terms of legacy files, Revo is by far the worst. I think we can afford moving it as a token since the Legacy genre doesn't dictate whether or not a file should affect level ranks.
And if we're thinking in terms of simfile quality, absolutely make the swap for those files.Comment

I guess if we're going to be moving some early files because they were so poorly charted they border on unplayable (64th trill, horrible anchors that go to nothing and eye-raping background), I'd be fine with moving both.
