Uh.. we left for our trip before I could see nforcer's post from July 6th. ****.

We didn't end up going to Chicago. We just went to Minneapolis for a few days. Now.. I don't know if I'd be able to get up there. I still don't have a car that is ready to be driven yet. I'd need a ride once again..

I (and others I'm sure) would be eternally grateful for a Chicago-area convention. Let's actually get this to happen. For the sake of throwing some sort of date out there, how about either Saturday December 29th or Saturday January 5th. I imagine those dates occur during times where people are off from school and most likely to be able to attend. If there's any way I can help to get this to happen, please let me know (even if it's just money needed to finance it - I'd be glad to help out if it's sure to make this come about).

I'll even cart Hammy, A2, and anyone else in southern Wisconsin/northern Illinois down there if they need transportation.

So this is going to happen during our winter breaks? If Christmas time, it'd have to be either right before Christmas or right after it. School starts back up on January 3rd for me.

December 29th - January 1st would be cool.

I'll see if I can't pull some strings with the alumni association at my alma mater, Northwestern (Evanston, IL - about 10 miles north of Chicago), to get a room in the student center on December 29th, or at least see how much it costs.

That might work. I'm done with my first semester on December 16th all the way up to January 14th. So as long as it's not too close to those dates, I can probably handle it.

just in case anybody was wondering, the student center hasn't been returning my calls, probably because no one is there since school doesn't start for another couple weeks or so. i'll update here when i see how plausible it is to hold a convention in evanston.
