Does 626 boos count as passing? I think you would run out of lives at the end of the song.

I'd say yes, because at that point, you technically completed the entire file.
Can't be too certain though

Dang! This is quite a challenge, but it's doable.

Question: Do I still get the 2,500 credits for participating or do I really have to miss all yellow arrows for it to count?

Just need to put an effort in is all, don't have to succeed, it's a tricky challenge.

The secret is to set your judge offset late, so you don't accidentally hit the yellow notes in the jack sections on accident. The only problem is, you still have to do the rest of the song flawlessly and I keep choking in the final quarter of it

As far as I know, you don't need to hit every note that isn't a 16th in order to complete the challenge. Considering this is a 68, including such a stipulation would provide a high barrier to entry for a considerable amount of the community that isn't capable of scoring well on charts that difficult. Part of the appeal of an event like this, I think, is its accessibility, so suddenly requiring people in D1-D3 to perform at a level well above their means and simultaneously execute a very specific requirement on that chart would be ludicrous.
