Heart-Shaped Shield

Your love shields me from the feeling of hate,
It feeds me, protects me, while I'm in a weakened state.
The day, it dawns, a new chance to begin,
The night, it comes, with all temptation and sin.
Your life, I cherish, far more than mine,
My life, you guard, until my heart will shine.
I was weakened, broken, and deprived of love,
Until you came, you healed me, and showed me beauty is, like the whitest dove.
I crave your embrace, your warmth, your kiss,
I want you here, right now, I need piece of Heaven's bliss.
Love me, hug me, do what you wish,
Never harm me or hurt me, or be served upon Satan's dish.
I call, I scream, I want you to hear,
That only with your help, can I overcome my greatest fear.
Guide me, guide the blind through the dark,
Slowly, with time, we'll heal that mark.
The one left behind by the last, as I'm still quite weak,
But together, forever, we'll find what we seek.
Love, eternal, something we share,
Just a spark, ingites, making the brightest flare.
Together, as a team, nothing will stop us,
But apart, torn at the seams, naught we can do by cry and fuss.
So grab my hand, heal this soul, lead it on to another life,
Love me, cherish me, and remove that knife.
I am at my knees, I seek your help,
For I am nothing, nothing but a helpless whelp.
