Hi. I'm a trans girl. For some reason I'm into my late twenties and still making derivative art for Rhythm Game Myspace. Feel free to chat me up.

My avatar is the HexCorp logo.

The flavor text, if you want to call it that, is the encoded text of Pictured as Perfect by Frums, whom I greatly admire.

  1. This is confirmation that I turned comment permissions on.

  2. Have you gotten a chance to listen to Tim Hecker's "No Highs"? I remember you having a particular reverence for his music so I thought there was a non-zero chance that you would answer in the affirmative.

  3. I don't think I knew that Harmony in Ultraviolet was your favorite Hecker. Certainly not a bad choice; why does that one in particular stand out to you? (Obviously not asking that in a condescending way. HiU is probably top three Hecker for me.)
And yeah, the saxophone is a fun addition. Stetson's contributions are interesting insofar as his technique is spellbinding, but I wish Hecker would have been a little more imaginative with his mixing. Not Hecker's best album, but certainly in its own stratum above a lot of disposable ambient.

  4. Yeah, I can see how those circumstances would lead to an epochal moment for you. I'm happy Hecker was able to provide that for you, as achieving moments of undiluted astonishment like that is a rather elusive enterprise. Not too long ago I got high and listened to the entirety of The Ballasted Orchestra while staring at a candle at 4 a.m. to mourn Brian McBride. Finding those emotions is like stumbling upon a heretofore unimaginable new color.

  5. Had a preliminary headphone listen of Purifying Fire and it sounds like an immaculate subwoofer listen. Unfortunately, in order to take advantage of that I will need to re-listen to the album in my car, so I apologize profusely in advance for domesticating your ethereal sonic experience. Those physically manifest bass rumblings are paramount to that, I think.

  6. I've not heard of Basic Channel until now, and that description is mighty apt. This feels like a heretofore unheard of marriage of The Social Network's OST when it leans into its techno roots and Hiroshi Watanabe's more recent efforts. This is a good rec, especially since my music algorithm is beginning to go cyclical.
On that note, I listened to Purifying Fire while parked at an abandoned skate park near my apartment at around midnight. No cops showed up to ruin the party. Good stuff.
