Another Poem

I offered her love, she offered me pain.
I offered her trust, she offered me shame.
I offered her everything, she offered me nothing.
I'm out of things to offer, so she has nothing left to steal.
Now that this is over, my wounds can finally heal.
She beat me, broke me, and turned my heart to stone.
Now I'm standing up again, standing up on my own.
I hope she'll remember me, because I'll never forget.
How she caused me so much pain, and never regret.
If she ever reads this, I just want her to know.
I loved her one time, back another age ago.
Back when she was human, and her smile still glowed.
Now the light is gone, her heart is tained and black.
And now I know I'm smart enough to know, I'll never go back.
