Do you think long distance relationships are stupi

My boyfriend lives in Drasco, Arakansa and i live in Plano, Texas. But my friend Rachel think that is stupid. I don't believe it cause i would rather have a boyfriend in Arkansa who cares for me than never have met this one at all!! What do you think in this situation?
