YES! Finally finished chapter two. I only read over it once, and didn't change much except to correct a few spelling errors, so it's probably not as good as it could be. Suggestions are much appreciated!
------------------
Angel looked up to the sky and closed her eyes, imagining Raetra; his story. She imagined just how his past affected his personality and behavior, how things could change his life in dramatic ways, why they happened, and who he became. His whole life unraveled in her mind, and she felt almost as though she was there as he went through hardships, succumbed to evils, and finally rose above them and triumphed. His whole life was one of despair, but at the same time, little hopes came and went, and he continued to grow, becoming strong; stronger than any man had managed to become. He used his strength in the only way he ever knew; violence. He had become a murderer; a cold blooded killer. But this strength of his was really a form a weakness. His outer strength was only a mask. However, even though it was a mask, still even deeper than his weakness ran, was strength. True strength. And almost no one knew it existed. All they knew of was his weakness.
Angel sighed. Raetra overcame so many hardships; endured so much misery! He seemed strong, but was truly weak, yet at the same time, a true strength lay within him. She opened her eyes. Maybe it wasn’t really him. Maybe this was just how she now felt, expressed through a flat, motionless, lifeless drawing. She sighed again. Oh how she wished he was real. She wished he was a living, breathing, tangible creature, someone who would understand her. Someone who would become her friend.
Friend. That word brought tears to her eyes. How she wished she had one, how she wished someone, someone understood. She wished she could find someone who really cared about her, who would befriend her and love her as a sister no matter what she was like, or what others thought. She laughed. As if a person like that exists in this world. She thought. She sighed one last time, and took a last, deep breath of fresh air before stretching, and getting up. She put her notebook back into her bag, and began to head back home. As she walked, she looked at the sky again, realizing that it had become dark while she’d been imagining for herself a new friend. Raetra… She laughed to herself. A friend huh? Everybody thinks I’m crazy, I guess this only proves that I am. A single tear fell down her cheek as she though about what it would be like to actually have a real friend. If only.
As soon as she got home, she dropped her bag on the floor and went upstairs, not even glancing at her mother, who only watched with a sad look on her face. When she heard Angel’s door open and close, as Angel went to her room, Mrs. Starly folded her hands, leaning her forehead on them. She closed her eyes.
“Oh… Lord please just help her, she’s grown so unhappy… I wish there was something I could do for her. I know it’s all in your hands, but I beg you, bring some joy back into her life. The same joy she always felt as a child, expressing herself fearlessly; innocently. I love her too much to see her like this, and watch her live her life without joy…” She whispered. Upon finishing, she unfolded her hands and got up. Feeling tired, she went up to her room, laid on the bed, and immediately fell into a deep, deep sleep. Meanwhile, Angel laid on her own bed, thinking quietly to herself. Soon enough, she dozed off, and the whole house slept; her father, her mother, and Angel herself. However, while her parents’ sleep was deep and silent, hers was light, and filled with loud nightmares, screaming at her and trying to wake her back up, full of fears. But she slept nonetheless, for several hours.
It was late in the night when Angel awoke. The entire house was completely silent; no sound could be heard. She leaned sideways to look at her clock, which read 1:57 AM. She sighed and moved her head back to the pillow, with her eyes closed. After a second, she felt uneasy and opened them again, to discover a black shadow cast over her bed through her window. She sat up, looking out the window, and caught sight of a dark figure climbing the tree nearby. An alarm went up in her head, though she didn’t quite know why. She figured she was perfectly safe. After a moment of staring, her mind cleared and she realized the cause for her alarm. Several of the branches of the tree stretched out toward her window, and were in fact, strong enough to hold a human, who might decide to climb across. And that was exactly what this figure was doing. It moved across the branches, slowly, but still steadily coming closer.
Angel immediately jumped out of her bed, running to the door. She tried to scream or make a noise, but her fear kept her mouth from opening. She flung the door open, only to hear a loud crashing noise. She ran into her parents’ room, to find them still sleeping. She shook them, but they didn’t wake up, and in a panic, she ran out of their room and down the stairs. However, down the stairs she discovered a broken window, through which a man was climbing. He spotted her and lunged at her. This time she let out a small yelp, which no one else heard.
She ran into the kitchen, where another man was roaming, and he too, chased after her. She turned around and ran for the door. She saw the first man coming down the stairs from her bedroom, the second man coming from the dining room to her left, and the third coming around from the kitchen to her right. She grabbed the door, only to find it locked. She tried to unlock it, but was so panicked and shaky; she failed to get a firm grip. Finally, just as the lock clicked open, all three of the men surrounded her, and grabbed her with strong hands. She struggled, but was unable to escape, as they tied her up, and gagged her. She tried to scream through the gag, but the sound was too muffled to wake anyone, and she was soon dragged out of the house.
The men dragged her along, and shoved her into the back of a car parked around the street. They stuck her in the middle, and two of them got in the back around her, guarding her from any chance of escape, as the third got into the drivers seat. He started up the car, and a terrified Angel found herself being driven away; a helpless captive. As the men drove her away, they pushed her below the seat, next to their feet, where she couldn’t be seen by others as they drove by. She cried, trying to think of all the reasons that they could be kidnapping her, and wondering, why her, of all people? However, her questions remained unanswered, and she could only lay there, crying for fear.
The drive seemed to last an eternity. Angel knew it was only her fear and anticipation which made it seem so long, but she still could not stand it. Her heart pounded to the point she thought it could burst. She almost wished it would; death would be so much better than this, she thought. However, it did not burst, and she lived on, despite her wishes. She thought that perhaps if she slept, it would all end sooner, however her fear kept her from sleeping. Even in the discomfort of being on the floor of the car, she felt she could sleep, had the anticipation of it not kept her from doing so. So the eternal drive went on.
Finally the car stopped and the driver got out. After several moments, he came back, and this time the other two men got out, dragging Angel with them. They brought her to a cave. The cave seemed to be small and have no exits; however a tunnel was hidden inside. They brought her to it, and dragged her deeper underground. They soon came to a large room, in which other men rushed about, along with several children, her age and younger. She noticed that every child was always being escorted by one of the men. Each child was brought to a steel door in the wall, or taken away to a different door. Many of these steel doors rested in the rock walls of the cavern-like room. In fact, Angel believed, it was indeed just a large cavern.
The men dragged her to a steel door near the back corner of the room. Inside was a smaller room, in which was a single chair. They sat her down in it, and one of the men left, as the other two kept her in her seat. After a few minutes, the man came back, with another man. Unlike all of the others, he was not in a disguise, although he did wear a thick, amorphous cloak, which hid most of his bodily features. However, from what she could tell, he was a rather large man by default. Much larger than most. He was large, not so much in muscle, but in height. She could see his heavy boots, sticking out from under his huge cloak. His arms were mostly covered, and his hands were dressed in heavy gloves. She could only slightly see his forearm, which was rather muscular but not excessively so, which almost looked strange for his size.
His face however, was what really drew Angel’s attention. It was something that could quickly be burned into one’s mind, never to be forgotten; always to be remembered in nightmares and frightening visions. He had a very square jaw, which was quite thin. She could see almost every muscle in his face. His nose was large and pointed, curving inwardly quite a bit. He had thick but not quite bushy eyebrows, which rested above two, terrifying eyes. They were deep set, and had a freakish look to them, like something was not quite right with him. But most terrifying of all, to Angel, was the demonic smirk which played on his thin lips, as he stared down at her terrified being.
Angel felt her body shake, uncontrollably. She could feel the sweat dripping down her face, as she stared back at his frightening figure. She felt like she was going to burst into tears, but the tears would not come; they stayed in her fogged over eyes. Her face grew hot, and she felt incredibly nauseous. Her legs began to cramp with the anticipation of her wanting to jump from the seat and run away, as fast as she possibly could. However the men still held her down, and the cloaked man still stood in front of her, smirking and staring at her.
He lifted his hand slightly, motioning to the third man. She struggled to get free from the other two as he walked toward her. She twitched as he moved his hand toward her face, however he did not hurt her; he only removed the gag. He stepped back, and the cloaked man, who seemed to be in charge, stepped forward.
“Do you know why you’re here, sweetheart?” He asked. She shivered more. He spoke with a deep and strangely creepy voice, which gave her chills. Even more, she never thought she’d ever be so terrified or disgusted by being called such a sweet name. She only silently stared at him, shivering.
“Go on! Speak! Why do you think that gag was removed!?” He said. His voice was very forceful and commanding this time.
“N-no…” She stuttered, quietly. He grinned.
“Do you remember about a month ago, at the airport? The time was around 3:00 PM and the plane had just taken off.” He said. Her mind immediately went back to the plane ride. Yes, she remembered it quite well. In fact, she even remembered what time it had been-she had a knack for remembering random details of these types of things. At the time she had been looking out the window, imagining whole worlds, and stories and creatures. The specific person she’d focused on at the time was Lucaska; someone she’d invented long ago.
Lucaska was from an alien planet, which was in many ways alike to Earth, but still just as different. His species was a lot like humans; however several key traits separated them from the human category. For instance, all of his species had bright blue hair, along with crystal colored eyes. In fact, the color blue, and the gem crystal played key roles on his home world. The crystals on his planet affected all of his species, giving them strange abilities, which would be considered super powers to humans, but were in fact, normal to his species. The color blue for them, signified joy and peace, something also capable of becoming quite fierce and terrifying when tested or pressed, much like water. Much like the humans, his species had a system of control, theirs being more like old ages for the human culture, in that they were ruled by a queen and king. Lucaska was one of the oldest guards for the rulers, being near 3000 years old! Even without the crystals, his species had an unnaturally long life as compared to humans, but with the crystals, their lifespan extended further for millennia. However, Lucaska was one of the only few who could survive past 2000 or even 1000 years of age, and still be going strong.
Angel’s imagination ran wild as she thought about her character, Lucaska. So fatherly and kind was he, and so gentle, one would never know the true strength that lay inside it all! She quickly forgot where she was, as she imagined his stories, and the adventures he’d had as a royal guard, and how he had ended up on Earth. However, she was quickly brought back to reality when the cloaked man spoke up.
“I see you remember quite well.” He said, grinning. She snapped out of her daydreams, and stared at him again. Suddenly, she began to wonder how he’d known about the plane, and this specific time that he’d wanted her to remember. He laughed, seemingly without reason.
“So finally we get to the real point.” He grinned. His sentence was odd to her, but she said nothing. He leaned forward, putting his face level to hers, and put a finger under her chin.
“You weren’t aware of this, but the entire time, I was there, on that plane, listening and seeing everything you imagined as you sat, staring out the window.” His words made her shiver even more than she had been. Fear of this man had long gotten a tight grip on her heart. Now it seemed to be trying to squeeze it till it should erupt. She felt so sick she was ready to hurl. What on Earth could he mean? How could he have been “listening and seeing” everything she imagined? His words made no sense to her, which only brought her more fear. He straightened, laughing.
“So confused… So curious! Yes, this is what I have been looking for. Very promising.” He quickly became serious. “However, even the promising ones didn’t end up being what I’d hoped for. Let’s just see how you really turn out.” Angel was growing more confused – and more frightened! – by the second. What was he talking about? Promising? What did that mean? Promising for what? What did he hope she’d turn out as? Why was he doing these things? What did his words mean? Angel’s mind churned, looking for the answers, but could find none. The cloaked man laughed more. It was almost as though he was laughing at her questions. But that was impossible; she’d never actually said anything!
Finally, having become too confused, she focused on a seemingly more important question. What on Earth does he want with me!? She wondered. He stopped laughing and grinned again.
“What do I want with you? I want to get into your mind. I want to break it down, and study every piece of it, and then when I’m finished, depending on the results, I want to use it for my own benefit, to the best of its potential.” He said. She stared at him. Why had he said that? It was so strange. It was almost as though he was answering her question. But that was impossible; she hadn’t spoken!
“Oh, but I was answering your question, sweetheart.” He said, abruptly. She stared at him blankly. He was answering her question? That was impossible! How could he have, when she didn’t say anything?
“My, still so curious. How did I do it? How did I answer a question that was never asked?” He grinned. “I believe the answer is quite obvious.” This statement brought about more questions, and more thoughts that ran through her head. She was beginning to get a headache. She just wanted an answer; all of this was too much for her to handle. How had he known what she wanted to know? A single thought came into her head. She quickly pushed it aside, however. No, it was impossible. He leaned in, close to her face.
“You had better believe it’s possible, sweetheart. Seeing as I’m doing it quite well right now.” He grinned; wider than before, if that was even possible. “That’s right… I’m reading your mind.” She spoke without thinking.
“That’s impossible!!!” She exclaimed.
“Is it? If it is, then please explain how I could possibly have answered an unspoken question, and known exactly what you were thinking? Sweetheart, despite how unbelievable it is… It’s true. I am indeed reading your mind.” She shivered. Her already present fear had made her rather susceptible to suggestion, and she now almost believed that he really was reading her mind. But if he could read her mind, how long had he been doing it? What thoughts were safe and private if this was true? In fact, how many other people could do the same? Could they even be people she knew? People she loved? Her own family?
“The simple answer is no. I and one other are the only humans in the world who can read minds.” He answered. This reply made her absolutely certain that he could indeed read her mind; however that knowledge gave her no comfort. The only comfort was knowing that no one else could be invading her thoughts at this moment. Unless he was lying. She quickly pushed that thought aside, feeling uncomfortable by even the suggestion. There were several moments of silence as he allowed her the time to process all of this new information. Slowly she was becoming slightly more comfortable; however the cloaked man still gave her the chills, just as strongly as before. She squirmed in her seat, unnerved by his unwavering stare. She wanted something to happen, she wanted to jump up and run away, she wanted someone to speak, so that she wouldn’t have to feel so uncomfortable! Finally she felt some relief as the silence was broken, by the cloaked man’s words.
“I believe we’ve wasted enough time conversing. It’s time to get to work now.” He said. He lifted his hand, and the two men grabbed Angel by the arms and dragged her out of the room. The third man followed, leaving the cloaked man alone. He himself left the room, and turned in a different direction as Angel was dragged through another door, which opened to a long hallway. She was finally taken to a third door, where she was untied. She thought this might be a chance to escape, however the men quickly grabbed her leg, and chained it to a chair, so she couldn’t get out of the seat. In front of her was a large desk, which protruded from the wall. The men grabbed her arm and chained that to the desk. The three men then left her to herself, closing and locking the door behind them.
Angel sat at the large desk, questions upon questions filling her brain, as she meanwhile struggled to pull her arm and leg out of the chains. She couldn’t help but cry; thinking of her family, and the safety of her home. Despite all of the pain she’d endured there, her current circumstances almost made the situation back home seem mild. Now she wanted nothing more than to go home. She would rather be an outcast in her own home, than to be a captive in a strange and dreary place, surrounded by terrifying strangers. The tears fell like streams, many more of which were soon to come, unbeknownst to her. However, she wouldn’t care either way. All she cared about, all she wanted at that moment was to go home!

lol, okay so I haven't seen ANY of my school friends since I stopped going to public school in 6th grade. And just recently I got a Facebook friend request from one of them O: He was one of my first friends omgosh, and then I found a bunch more through him. How exciting! Lol, I'm finding it incredibly difficult to imagine my old elementary school friends as teens like me |D

Yeah, so I caught a virus the morning of my party. And it only got worse. It's finally getting slightly better, but man, if it weren't for me being sick, that would have been the most epic party EVER! IT was already pretty epic, although, now all of my friends are probably going to get sick XD
