Keep Me Here On FFR Posted on: September 29, 2008, at 04:32:53am Let me know what you think of my progression. I've been playing ~6 months. No prior SM experience. I feel shitty as fuck. Especially after whoring a song I hate for more than 7 hours of my life for a tournament, just to not be good enough to advance to round 3. . I need encouragement to stay here. I honestly got depressed as fuck after that, and felt like quitting FFR. . I primarily stayed because I find this game a hell of a lot more fun to play while drunk than SM. . Secondly, there's the community. . There are people here that I'd probably rather die than never get another chance to talk with again. . These people include: STD_OnTheRox, DarknessXoXLight, andili, Camille~, foilman8805, babyvpr, Summerschool, Sprite-, EAGAMES, Phynx, who_cares973 and many more. If you feel like I've missed you I'd be happy to include you in the list. These people here are the ones who keep me inspired though. These are the people that keep me addicted to FFR. They each have their own degree of expertise, and they are all on different skill levels. I am FAR below any of them. . My goal is to be able to accomplish what these people have accomplished in years, in hopefully under ONE year. . Please provide any suggestions or support you can. I will gladly take advice from people who have wrecked this game. Let me know what helped you improve, provide feedback, recommended levels of play, etc... . I don't even want to let everybody know how depressed I got after being dropped in Round 2 of an Unofficial tourney... So let's just suffice it to say, FFR is my life. If I can't succeed here. I'm a failure... This is one of the few remaining things that keeps me motivated in life. . Sound pathetic? It is. But it's true. I'm 20 years old. I work 7 days a week. And the only immediate aspiration in life I have is to be the BEST at FFR. Fuck -Laggy-, fuck MrRubix, and fuck EAGAMES. . Before I leave this site... I will be better than you. If that never happens, you can expect to see me here until the day I die. . Don't let that happen please. |

Please note... I am drunk at the moment. But then again, when am I not? This is how I feel, and this is how I treat the game. It's not some fun little place where I come to kill arrows as recreation... No. I don't think I would have played Skellybones 173 times for the AAA if I just played this game for fun. I came here expecting to be eventually placed at MINIMUM in the Top 10 on the site. Check how old this account is, see how many gameplays I have... Tell me if you don't think that's determination.

Give me advice and guidance, and I will listen. I am focused on something like I never have been before. Being so lowly qualified to be in an Intermediate division has really made me realize how much further I have to improve. I need advice on PA consistency recommended levels to improve finger speed etc...

You've been here for a 5th of a year. By expecting to already be good enough to get SDGs on stuff like Firestorm, and then holding yourself to those expectations, you will get drepressed.
People just don't progress that quickly. Back when I was playing Stepmania, when I had a fifth of a year, I honestly probably couldn't even FULL COMBO Firestorm.
I understand your need to succeed in FFR and place well in the tournaments, but you just have to give it more time. Even after a full year, you STILL won't be as good as some of the people here with a year, or even 4/5 of a year. It all depends on YOUR growth speed.
Let's put it this way: I've been playing for over 3 years and I still have trouble playing some FMOs, or even some VCs. Hell, I can't even play Butterflies, and that's (supposedly) a VD. An 8. We all have our strengths and weaknesses, and it takes us all time to get over them.
You haven't been here nearly long enough to expect such things from yourself. When you've bee

*When you've been here a year, look back on this and see how far you've gone. But until then, just give yourself room to improve. You won't improve unless you do.

It's a process of evolution...it's slow and steady.
I had no prior experience with any rhythm game whatsoever before I came to FFR. Why the fuck do you think I've played 52000 games on this site? It's because I sucked something awful at this game when I first started. In my first six months of playing, I had less FCs and less AAAs than you do now. Not even kidding.
You have to practice, and you have to want to improve. The minute you think you're good at this game is the minute you stop improving.
Recently, I've drifted away from the game...while I could easily AAA Dokudenpa for the 3rd round on the tourney, I just don't even care anymore. It's not the game that's critically important...I mean, yeah, it still means a lot to me, but I've grown to love people in the community just like you, and just contributing to discussions and trolling or whatever makes me just as happy as getting AAAs.
Find your place in the community. Do what makes you happy, whether it be the talking in th

Don't play for a week...
It might be hard...
That or play SM STRICKLY FOR 1 WEEK
Only play songs that are hard for you and you at least get a couple misses or more on and can't come close to AAAing. 25+ goods.
Find songs like that and whore them for a week or get a hard song pack and just practice all the songs there
It will increase the speed you will be able to see and read notes so you will be able to know what to hit and where to hit. And also get you better at hitting a lot of notes at one time. This is how I got better at least. Btw this is WTFBrandon and i've quit FFR untill I can AAA some songs on SM, then when I come back my avrank should be 2 :P
Trust me. it works :o
Even extend the time to a month if you want better results.
Keep up the good work bro, i've been seeing a lot of you around lately and getting your name noticed.
One day you WILL be known as a pro :]
Don't give up yet!
