* Added Quality button to let those of you with slower CPU’s increase your framerate. You will notice a degraded look in quality setting 1 (the lowest) but no features or graphics will be removed in this mode.

I will be adding to this list as the night goes on if there are any more improvements.

The placement and look of the button is temporary.

Please comment on this feature if you have the time. Your feedback is valuable in improving FFR.

* Level start is automatic upon load completion

* When attaining a Hi-Score, clicking on the X or hitting the RETURN key will enter the name

* Slightly less demanding on the CPU. This should bring up the frame rate for a few of you. Much more to optimize still

* Added text next to the green arrow so people know to click on it for more songs. Also cycled the colors a bit on the arrow to bring attention.

* Changed text on song preloader to “Here We Go!” since a click is no longer needed

* Any score you achieve within the top 50 will let you enter your name again. For a few days this was not the case, my error.

There is still quite a list that I am working on and will update you to the changes over the next few days. Thanks to everyone for their tips and bug reports.

Hi guys, about the game

Hi dudes, MEGAginge here. I just wanted to make a coment on the game. As one of the top players (and for the record – one that has NO idea how ducknoodle soup does it!) I just want to shout out about just how cool this game is, I’ve never been one to play online games of any kind, be it counter strike or nukezone – but when i came across this title I thought it rather interesting. Ive actually gone to bed with MAJOR cramp after extended periods on this game and wow, basically – lets give it up to synthlight and the flashmxcrew for producing such an amazing game – lets also hope they make a rock section soon. Oh – and for a secret and all, that ‘secret level’ is WAaAY to easy

Access to the FFR Game

It seems like some people are getting a “youre not allowed” error when trying to access FFR from the link on the left. Technically you should be able to play the game without logging in. I am trying to figure out why only some people are getting this error. Please leave a comment if you are one of those people so that I know who is a effected and how to troubleshoot this problem.

to access FFR directly. This url will be valid until I figure out the problem.

The Timing of the Arrows

After visiting a few other forums and seeing what people had to say about FFR so far, I have noticed that some of the really advanced DDR players have thrown many compliments our way but sometimes complained about the arrows being slightly offbeat at times.

I wanted to stress that this was due to my very own inability to be machine perfect when I tapped out the beats for that song on the keyboard. The FFR engine is sound and will keep perfect sync. Luckily we won’t have to worry about that much longer since BPRC is working on the visual beat editor and I have finished the DWI <--> FFR stepfile converter.

Don’t forget how beta this project is. 2 months ago not a single part of it existed.

Wondering how to change your auto-generated password? Just login and go to “My Account” under the Main Menu.. From there just edit your info and you should be set.

Hmmm.. Secret you say?

Hmmm.. secret level.. hidden somewhere in the game say you? Hmmm… Level is test of DWI converter? Hmmm..

Some of you have already found this secret level it.. Not that it is hard to find… Thought I would mention it anyway. It is very temporary and may dissapear at any moment. Was being used strictly for testing purposes.

Another Day, Another Site

Everyone will need to reregister so you can use the new forum and special features on the site. I was not able to convert the old database. Sorry to all the 30+ members. Luckily I made this switch early to avoid the problem down the road.

I thought it was about time that our FFR site got itself a facelift. You will notice we have changed from a frames based site into a full fledged PostNuke system.We are trying to make this site as useful as possible and would like to offer everyone new features like:

1. FFR you can download and make your own songs for.

2. FFR that you can put on your own website with songs that you make.

3. Online DWI <--> FFR converter

4. More robust forum that covers not only FFR but all other forms of DDR type games.

5. Downloads section to download legal FFR songs and step files.

6. High-Bandwidth and Low Bandwidth versions as well as CPU-Intensive and CPU-Lite versions. All selectable within FFR itself.

7. Legal downloads for other DDR type games.

There are many more features in the works but the features mention above are the ones we would like to focus on. Many of these features are close to being finished and you should see them surface soon (like the DWI converter).

60,000 Plays on FFR

Today marks 60,000+ plays on FFR. I think it is amazing how far this project has come in the month that this website has been up. FFR continues to get facelifts and updated code daily (even if i don’t mention it . I would also like to mention that I have finally finished my DWI <--> FFR online converter and will be putting that up shortly so that you can easily convert songs into the FFR format and send them to us. We are still working on a visual arrow editor and should have that done very soon. Hopefully once we finish optimizing the code a little more we can offer a downloadable version that still connects to the internet for hi-scores.
