A night of FFR fun!

Posted in Uncategorized on April 21st, 200316 Comments »

What a night it was waiting for the amazing secret of the six new FFR songs to be revealed. If you weren’t there you should have been, it was a fun night of talking in the chat room with eager anticipation for the big secret to be revealed. FFR members got to meet each other and I was in my zone welcoming everyone to the valley of the dead who entered the chat room. For about two hours we talked about just about everything constantly begging Nestlekwik for an update on how long till the secret was revealed. Finally we heard a shout from a member telling us that it was done and revealed on the home page. The night of April 20th-21st is a landmark in FFR history. There ranged from 20-25 ppl in the chat room all at the same time (a new record!!!) and perhaps the most aniticipation witnessed in a while. The result was spectacular! Everyone, let’s give our admins our thanks and a big round of applause!!!

6 NEW SONGS ADDED TONIGHT!!!!

Posted in Uncategorized on April 20th, 200321 Comments »

This is by far the largest group of songs we have had added on a single day in the history of FFR. Thanks to all the dedicated fans that stayed up late in the chat room. The songs are listed below in no particular order. I would like to thank Nestlekwik as he is soley responsible for getting together and creating all of the stepfiles for this release tonight. Take the time out to thank him in the forum if you get a chance. All the songs you see below will (in one form or another) be songs included with R2. Keep in mind though that R2 will support multiple stepfiles per song.

Clear you cache and refresh your browser if you don’t see these levels.

–ROCK– “Until the End” by Excluded
“Until the End” is one of those songs that I keep playing on winamp but never seem to get tired of. Sort of a Blink 182 meets Green Day type of sound.. or… for you older folks, they sound (to me) a little bit like Material issue. Anyways, this stepfile is a little on the hard side. Not recommended for beginners

–DANCE– “SoulShift” by SuperGreenX
What can I say about SuperGreenX besides the fact that he does great work. Well mixed, very clean and perfectly composed. Most of his music reminds me of well done music for video games and this song is no exception. Medium difficulty song.

–DANCE– “Break the Common” by DJ Kankaoh
Yet another addition to the FFR game by DJ Kankaoh. This beat is a bit furious. Definately some of faster beats I have seen come from Kankaoh. A quality piece that deserves a difficult stepfile for those medium-advanced players out there.

–CLASSICAL– “Monnlight Sonata” by Beethoven
Finally! A new classical song! It was about time eh? Ok, Beethoven may be dead but that doesn’t mean I cannot thank him.. THANK YOU MR. BEETHOVEN! A medium to advanced song as far as difficulty goes.

–HIP-HOP– “Love You Anymore” by DJ KANKAOH
The second song in today’s release that you have seen from DJ KANKAOH. He offers a unique mix worthy of the hiphop catagory. Fortunately for you FFR newbie’s, this song is rated a 2 “)”. So get to it!

and last but not least.

–SECRET SONG–
Sorry, can’t tell you much about this besides the fact that it is open to public testing and was made for FFR. Can you find it?
Doesnt matter if you can…
You will be Pwnd!

**EDIT** FIXED AUTOMISS IN “LOVE YOU”

Tick…tock….tick…..tock…..*sigh*….

Beats Beats the Musical Treats

Couple of announcements to make today. First I would like to wish everyone a Happy Easter or whatever you may celebrate this time of the year. I am as always extremely thankful that there are 100 people online right now playing FFR instead of eating lamb and other strange dishes ;) .

I would also like to give a bit of updates on stats since we have not done that lately. We have been maintaining around 100,000+ plays of FFR per day. About 140,000 a day if you count the downloadable version. I can check the plays on this via access stats for the internet hi-scores.

FFR TIMES PLAYED SINCE DEC: 14,500,000+
AVERAGE TRANSFER CONSUMED PER DAY: 31.5GB
PAGE VIEWS ON THIS SITE SINCE DEC: 4,000,000+
DOWNLOADABLE VERSION DOWNLOADS: 22,000+
Not bad eh? I am just happy that everyone is having a good time in general.

I would also like to announce a musical treat prepared by NestleKwik and Myself. The real work was done by NestleKwik though. Please check back on this site between 9:00pm-11:30pm Central time TONIGHT for the release of this treat. (don’t you just love secrets?)

The Flash Flash Forums

Posted in Uncategorized on April 19th, 20036 Comments »

Hey everybody, for those of you who know me, hello, for those of you who don’t, I’m Freak83, one of the common forum users. Recently there’s been some discussion going on about the amount of members using the forums, at my last count there are 54407 registered users but only about 50 commonly use the forums. So this makes me think, where are the other 54357 members? The Flash Flash Forums are actually a very fun place.

where can you start? You can say hello in the introductions section, I’m sure that everyone who says hi will be welcomed in.

What can you do? Post whats on your mind in the Chit-Chat section, got an idea for FFR? Tell us about it in the suggestions section. Even the full screen version was thought of by a user. Tell us how much you own at FFR in the Brag Boards. We do listen. Of course some other things to do are, starting a flame war with Arch0wl, Enduring Yanah’s pointless polls, or just watching CMCAdvancedSP and QreepyBORIS flaming each other over who would make a better moderator.

One thing’s for sure, Flash Flash Revolution may be the game, but it’s only half the fun. ;)

Flash Flash Radio Killed the Video Song… Bvradio Style

Tonight we are proud to announce a collaboration between Flash Flash Revolution and Bvradio. Bvradio is a streaming radio station with live DJ’s that plays a variety of songs and will now be integrating FFR artists into it’s lineup. Bvradio has the ability to accomodate Winamp, Windows Media Player and Realplayer streams for both dialup and broadband users.

Please take the time out to tell them thanks and that you came over from FFR to listen to their show. Keep an ear out for FFR mentions/news on Bvradio.com

You can find the link below or in the upper lefthand corner of our main page.

Just a little extended thanks to Bvradio.com for working together with us on this little venture. Bvradio.com is a nice breath of fresh air compared to all the corporate stations out there.

Cheers,

Secret projects and Canadian vacations

Posted in Uncategorized on April 16th, 20034 Comments »

Well, I’ve had the secret project completed for about two days now, but I haven’t been able to get a hold of Synthlight since then. Once I can reach him, secret project #1 will be unleashed and I’m hoping #2 will be finished in the quite near future as well. Right now, I think Synthlight has been on vacation in Canada gambling at casinos. Hopefully he’s winning money instead of losing it and not doing any heavy drinking or illegal things. But, anyway, the first project is done, it just needs to be added to the site.
Also, this Saturday will be your last chance to vote on your favorite FFR song/step file. Keep those votes coming!

Minor Fixes

Posted in Uncategorized on April 13th, 20034 Comments »

Finally fixed the problem where Funk songs #2 and #3 would not load for some people. This should all be working again.

Made a minor change in the preloader that displays the percentage of level load from 0% instead of fading it in around 5%. Apparently this caused some dialup users to think the song was not loading.

No revision changes as these were minor. Just don’t forget to clear your cache and reload.

W00t?!? Another update?!? OMFG!

Posted in Uncategorized on April 13th, 20039 Comments »

Just so you people know, we’re working hard on the first secret project. After having a day mostly to myself yesterday, 50% of the project is now completed. Then immediately following the completion of project #1, work on the second project will follow immediately. So, the way it looks, you players will be receiving some good stuff fairly soon. Next time we update, unless something comes up, project #1 should be completed. Unitl then, vote on your favorite FFR song (song itself and step file) and keep the suggestions and input coming.
