10 Minutes til Showtime

Just wanted to remind everyone that we have about 10 minutes until showtime (from the time of this post). Spook Will be taking over the FFR radio with non-stop mixing for atleast 2 hours. We are playing a few never before heard Arktisk tunes and a few other songs until spook goes on.

Spook is Taking Control of the Radio

Spook Goblin will be once again spinning a live set for you guys on Weds starting at 7pm CST (5pm pacific & 8pm eastern). As always it will be an original show that you don’t want to miss. Even better you will be able to listen in both Hi and Lo bandwidth and Winamp or Media Player can be used as with all FFR Radio broadcasts now.

For those of you who have missed the show in the past. DO NOT MISS IT!!! Spook is not merely playing tunes but doing live mixing on the turntables for the duration of the show.

Turkey Day is Upon Us!

Well it is finally here.. The day we inject turkeys with steroids and then kill them to show thanks. But on this day I do not want my plump turkey to be wasted without showing what I am thankful for.

I am thankful FFR is alive and kicking

I am thankful more than 80,000,000 unique people people have visited the site since last year

I am thankful for all 170,000 registered members

I am thankful for FFR being enjoyed over 100,000 times a day

I am thankful for nearly 700 new members per day

I am thankful that the forum is improving

I am thankful for all the stepfile makers (can’t list them all)

I am thankful for all the artists who have agreed to let us use music for no charge

I am thankful for all the PM’s I get from people who want to help with the site

I am thankful that the FFR chat has survived all the spammers

I am thankful that NewfoundSystems has custom created the FFR chat for us

I am thankful we all have been blessed enough to have the internet

I am thankful schools have started banning FFR (NOT!)

I am thankful Arch0wl is only 25% as mean to newbies as he used to be

I am thankful for all the mods that continously help out on FFR for the love of the game

I am thankful my ISP now provides 3mbit connections (ffr is remotely hosted and has nothing to do with my ISP)

I am thankful I have family to celebrate thanksgiving

I am thankful I have a crazy 2 year old son who always finds a way jump on me from behind and nearly kill me

I am thankful that my business is doing well and that I have many clients

I am thankful my wife understands my hobbies, the time they take and doesnt make me sleep in the garage

I am thankful for ramen noodles. They have carried me through the years

I am thankful for my RC plane nearly cutting my finger off but then giving me hours of enjoyment

Dj Cynispin Spinning Live on FFR Radio!

This is kind of a random show tonight. I caught DJ Cynispin in chat spinning music on the turntables and asked him to route it through FFR Radio. Not sure how long he is going to spin but I think you will enjoy every minute of it while he does.

Thanks to the New Artists and New Songs From Veteran Artists on FFR

Just wanted to thank all the new artists that have been submitting to FFR, we will work our hardest to get your music on the site. We do see everything that is submitted in the audio section of the forum even if we don’t respond that often.

A long overdue thanks goes out to DJ rage for his 2 contributions in the past. He was the musician behind both Uber Rave and “For FFR”. I apologize for not mentioning him sooner. He is a superb artist and deserves the props. Thanks again Rage. Hope to see more from you soon.

This week we also saw 3 new stepfiles and 2 new songs go up. The first one was “Ball of Malt” which has caused quite a stir in the forums. Very talented group even if the music is not your ball of malt (funny am i!).

Secondly, Arch0wl restepped “Stay with me” to be 100% original and extended for the duration of the original song. This V2 can be found in the shop for 200 credits. I know all the celldweller fans were looking forward to that one. Great song, just love it.

Last but not least we attained a new song from Spook Goblin of For Great Justice. The song is La Luna Caida.. Where is it? hmmmm.. That’s a secret. Spook G never fails to amaze me with his tunes. His tunes are always recognizable but always unique in their own way.

We should hopefully have a few more songs up for you guys soon. We have a whole vault of them we are trying to get converted and out to the public.

The Spook G is On FFR Radio

Tonights show is starting now, it had been postponed for 2 hours due to an emergency trip to the hospital tonight… It’s a long story but it starts with me nearly ripping off the tip of my finger with an rc plane propeller earlier in the day..

I don’t want to be boring you to death with my stories of blood baths and horrible typing skills. I now end this piece and leave you in the hands of Mr. Spook Goblin.

First Title In the Misc Genre! The Shots!

I wanted to take time out this morning to announce the first song in the Misc genre. The song is called “Ball of Malt” by The Shots. Definately not what you normally would find in a game like FFR but a very welcome addition. I found myself quickly addicted to the song after listening to it just a few times. The Shots are a BlueGress, Irish, Old Time and Cajun type band and have some fantastic talent if you ever want to stray from the electronic path and dive into something accoustic and original. Arch0wl wrote the stepfile and agreed to tone down the difficulty a bit in order to make the level more playable for most of the FFR audience (difficulty 7). Thanks to Arch for being so willing to work on this interesting song.

WTF? Seriously. WTF?

Well, it seems somebody has hacked the Forums, erasing all the topics/threads. No, I dont know what happened, so stop asking. But look at the bright side, it’s as if we have been given a fresh start. I’m doing my best to get things back to normal, and I am sure the rest of the staff are too. So just bear with us until we can fix the problem.
