So far, here is the current line up for DJs on FFR radio:

All times are EST..

Weekly Schedule:

Mostly Drum and bass, or so I am told.

Guests or new acts can get playtime here on the radio. If you wish to do a show on this time slot PM me. This will become the main way to get onto FFR radio in the future.

Wednesdays:
Synthlight’s Rants and Music 1am – undecided

Thursdays:
SuperGreenX on the mic 8pm-10pm

Assorted electronica

Fridays:
DJ LightDarkness presents: 8pm-10pm

Various Electronic.

Other Radio shows:

2nd Wednesday of every month:

DJ SpookGoblin wreckin’ t3h deckz 8pm – 11pm

A live 3 hour set by DJ SpookGoblin. :)

I am sorry I cannot do my own shows more frequently, and will try to do at least two a month soon, but I am somewhat strapped for time on my days off of work.

SPECIAL RADIO CONTEST:

We will be holding a DJ battle contest if enough contestants sign up. There will be a special night of dj sets and public voting as well as judges to determine who the winner will be.

What is the prize?

1. Your own ffr radio show, should you so desire.
2. fifty (50) bucks (dollars).

From the date of this post there will be a two week period for contestants to enter. To enter, send me a private message TO ME (not synthlight) with the following information:

Your real name, your dj name, styles you mix, and a short bio.

I will not be entering this competition, because I don’t think it would be in good spirits for myself to compete in my own contest.

I hope we get enough people interested so we can make this happen. Tell your friends about it. Tell them about FFR radio, too. I hope to get more shows of a wider variety out there for everyone to enjoy. Welcome to FFR radio ;)

cheers,

-Spook

Spook Goblin has been working hard to get an organized schedule of DJ’s to make regular weekly or daily appearances. Tonight and most likely every Sunday night from 8pm-10pm Dj Cynispin will be mixing live on the turntables. As the week progresses we will see more definate schedules from everyone and will post them as soon as we find out.

Enjoy Dj Cynispin.. Live right now on FFR Radio Hi-Bandwidth connections.

Cheers,

Synthlight

*EDIT* Cynipin is done for the night. Thanks a bunch Cynispin for the set. See you next weekend. :)

Brunswick Zone in Naperville

Posted in Uncategorized on January 23rd, 200425 Comments »

Is this a newsworthy item? Probably not but I am too lazy tonight to click twice and post in the forum ;) .

For those of you who don’t know, I live near Chicago. I frequent a place called the Brunswick Zone which has 2 DDR machines setup in this “crater” in the middle of the arcade area. I have noticed that lately the DDR machines there have been attracting a larger number of people. Has anyone also noticed this? Maybe it had to do with Ultramix being released.. Maybe it has to do with FFR (heh!). I seriously don’t know. What is funny though is the fact that I take my little 2 year old son there and we bum around for 2 hours. It always feels strange because here I am, with my son looking like the young dad type and nobody there has any idea that I am hooked into the DDR community (host ddrmaniax and mirror for DWI and Stepmania through ddrmaniax + own and created FFR). Yet it doesn’t bother me and I definately never mention it to anyone there. It is just good to see people still enjoying DDR and for the most part it still seems to pull people together socially.

Soo.. If you ever see this guy walking around with a 2 year old red haired little boy that insists on standing 8 feet or more away from the skee-ball machine when he throws the balls, that’s me.. but don’t get too close.. My son’s aim is horrible.

Cheers,

Synthlight

Time to Reflect

Posted in Uncategorized on January 21st, 200430 Comments »

It is about time that we look back at FFR and look hard at the songs of the past. While many of these are classics, many need to be fixed due to being converted with the very first versions of my DWI to FFR converter or even worse no converter was used at all and my realtime beat recorder was used. which.. well.. if my timing 1 1/2 years ago was better it would have produced better results.

Anyway. We are now compiling a list of glitched songs. (Yes we already know them all) and will be posting songs that are fixed.

The first cleanup goes to:

1. Rondo Alla Turca in the Classicl section.
*FINISHED*

*EDIT* Forgot to mention the new secret song up. Thanks to Bladerunner and Jello

We are working this weekend to patch up some holes in the challenge system that many of you found and messaged to me. For those of you interested in cheating, I took a reasonably high number and anyone that has credits over that amount (cheating) has been wiped to 0.

Cheers,

Synthlight

*EDIT* For those of you who lost your cheated credits.. and you know who you are (all 15 or so of you). Message me with your old credit amount.. Or post it here. I didn’t single anyone out. I just ran a reasonable number through the database.

Challenge Mode is a Reality

Posted in Uncategorized on January 16th, 200436 Comments »

Challenge mode is up for all of you to test. Here is how it works.

Refresh/Clear your cache if you haven’t already done so.

Press the Challenge button

Fill in the appropriate information and press the “issue challenge” button

You will now be brought back to the main screen where you will see a “C” next to the challenge mode button. This means you are in challenge mode.

Play any level you wish. At the end of the level it will let you know that your challenge has been sent.

When the challenged player logs into FFR, they will see a “pending” scroll over the challenge button..

They will merely have to enter the challenge area, hit view details and then accept the challenge.

at the end of the level, stats are compared and an EMAIL is shot off to both players confirming the results and deleting the challenge from the database.

It is about that simple! Just make sure that you email address on FFR is a valid one because this system sends out the results based on your registered email address. If you are not sure, click on “my account” on the left navigation of this website and then edit your account info to reflect a valid email address. You can still play without a valid email address but you may never see the results.

The email it sends out right now is crude. We will be working to refine things and make them a little more pleasing by version .68

Cheers,

Synthlight

*EDIT* – MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A VALID AND UP TO DATE EMAIL ADDRESS FOR YOUR ACCOUNT HERE IF YOU WANT TO USE THIS FEATURE!!!!

*EDIT* – Fixed bug that incorrectly reported boo’s, misses etc in the end of challenge email that gets sent out. Please feel free to report back any bugs.. bugs are just part of life and if there are any, we will work to get rid of them ASAP.

For those of you who didn’t know or don’t read the news stories on FFR, I have been on vacation in Florida for the last week and I am now finally back in Chicago (my home). We will be wrapping up .67 asap now that I am back.

Don’t forget to catch the live show from Spook Goblin tonight on FFR Radio. You can catch it by clicking on any of the FFR Radio links on the main page (this page) navigation.

Cheers,

Synthlight

Take Warning..

Wednesday, I repeat, WEDNESDAY JANUARY 14th, DJ SpookGoblin will be tearing it up live on FFR radio at 5pm pacific time. Since there is usually a lot of confusion on this, I made a neat little table:

Starting time.
5pm – Pacific
6pm – Mountain
7pm – Central
8pm – Eastern

Everyone complained about not having advanced notice in the past, so here you go, and I expect a lot of people to be listening! Tell all your friends!

Oh, and if anyone wants to…

I would be willing to let someone do an opening act. If you are interested, contact me via AIM or a PM and we’ll discuss the possibility. ;)

I apologize to all the 200,000+ members about the last 24hours. We had a database error that I was not aware of. I have been dialing in from Orlando because we are on vacation and didn’t get a chance to see the error until this morning. It was promptly fixed and we are back and rolling again. We also just recently finished running MANY patches and kernel updates to the FFR server and you may have noticed at times certain services were down.

We in fact are not going anywhere. Just preparing for larger things to come. :)

Anyone here from Orlando? We are staying at the holiday Inn resort off of International Drive. Not a bad place.. Nice Suite. :)

Cheers,

Synthlight
