FFR Photo Contest #1 2004

I thought it was about time to rise the spirits of the FFR community and
provide something a little bit out of the ordinary. FFR is now hosting a contest
and you need not have DDR/FFR game skills to win!! (yay!)

Here is how it works.

Find any person, place or object and attach the words "FFR" or "FlashFlashRevolution.com"
to them/it and take a picture. You then only need to attach it as an image in
the forum thread linked below. Simple eh? You bet!

Here are some rules to follow:

1) You cannot bring harm to anyone during this process
2) Fake photos will be rejected and disqualified
3) Your attachment must be in JPG or PNG format
4) No nudity beyond PG-13 rating
5) Up to 5 entries allowed

The admins will then pick the top 10 images posted and we will hold a public
poll to decide the winner(s).

1st Place receives 2 CD’s of their choice from the FFR store
2nd Place receives 1 CD of their choice from the FFR store
3rd Place receives 500 FFR Game Credits
4th place receives the humiliation of almost winning something

The deadline has not been determined yet and will be determined based on the
number of entries received. Keep this in mind.. The thread in the forum is ONLY
for posting images, no replies are allowed that contain only comments.

With Deepest Respect

Some of you may or may not know an FFR player by the name of “Monoc”. He was an avid FFR fan that played the game over 1000 times and ranked #412 out of 283,000. He had apparently been battling depression for a long time and a family member contacted me today and informed me that he took his own life on April 21st. I just wanted to leave a news story to remember him by and pay a little respect for such a great fan of the game.

Best wishes and prayers go out to his family. We are very sorry for your loss. If there is anything I can do to help, don’t hesitate to ask.

FFR League – Last day for week 3!!!

This is yet another reminder from LD, Freak, and new coordinator Kilgamayan, telling you about the FFR League deadline. For week 3, it is at midnight tonight (saturday).

This week is somewhat special, after tonight, if you havnt submitted a score for ANY week, you will be deleted from the league, it creates a lot of work for the Coordinators, and if you havnt participated so far, your out.

As long as you have submitted for AT LEAST one week, you are still in it. So tonight, week four matches WILL NOT BE POSTED. LD will post them tomarrrow (sunday), so he has time to recomplie the list.

New Features in .675

I am still working out the kinks but I have activated the following options in settings:

Tornado, Dizzy, Mini

Sudden, Hidden, Stealth, Blink

Dark

You can mix and match any of these settings.. for example Tornado + Hidden + Dark. More settings will become available tomorrow and I also will be jumping back to releasing songs. I will basically be spewing them into the database tomorrow in order to catch up to my pledge of 1 song a day.

The settings do not reset to default each time you play a level. It is a small bug and I will fix it when i get the chance.

Version .675 Released.. Single New Feature

Well, after sending out about 7 new songs in the past week, I thought it might be nice to add a small new feature to FFR.

Vivid Arrows .. BUT! only if the level is re-compiled to use them. So that means from now on as levels are added, they will have the correct color instead of all just blue. You may need to clear your cache. If you see Version .675 in the game on the main screen then you are playing the newest version. Currently only Contradistinction, La luna and The Essential have been recompiled to handle vivid.

Tomorrow we will resume with the new songs.

FFR League – Last day for week 2!!!

Freak83 and I would like to thank everyone for their participation in the FFR League. We had aprox 150 – 200 people submit scores last week, and that has made this league possible.

But there are still many people out there who signed up, and havnt submitted scores. Please, it’s not to late. Read the matches threads in the FFR League forums, and play your match asap, and submit it before midnight tonight (eastern).

Again, week 3 matches will be posted around midnight, so beat the rush and submit early.

FFR League – Last day for week one!!!

I just wanted to remind everyone who has not submitted their scores for week one of the FFR League that today is your last day to do so!

Week two begins tonight at midnight (EST) and week one scores will not be accepted by then! If you have not submitted a score by tonight and your opponent has, your opponent will score points for week one and you will not. If neither sides have submitted their scores, neither of you get any points for week one.

Also, a few of you have incorrectly submitted your scores (incorrect links) and I have PM’ed you if you have done so. I advise everyone who has already submitted a score to check their forum inbox just in case.

A little FFR Radio Easter Treat

Easter Sunday, starting around 1:30pm PST(4:30pm EST), there will be a special FFR radio broadcast to uh, ring in Easter, or something, with Easter eggs of trance, and some chocolate bunnies of whoopass.

Welcome a New Talent to FFR

Not often do we find a new artist to showcase on FFR with as much presence and power as AZIM. Before I go any further, I would like to apologize to his manager for taking so long to get the song up on FFR. We had quite a few problems but we were finally able to come through for you guys.
Anyway, I ran across AZIM’s work a few months back and was dropped by the quality of his tracks. I know that we have a crowd here that is 50/50 on hip-hop but you cannot deny that “Freak Out” (in the hip-hop section) is a well produced and catchy track. It is the first song in the hip-hop section and about a level 4 (fairly easy). Please welcome Azim and his work as we hop to attact more hip-artists of his caliber.
Below is a quick bio:

Born Scott Whitfield in Flushing, New York, @zim was the younger of his mother’s two boys. @zim’s brother took on then responsibility of being the male role model in the house. Being 10 years older then @zim he did every thing he could to mold @zim in to a man that would be aware of his environment and the changes that were needed to revitalize it. @zim’s mother worked long days to provide for her family and instilled a work ethic; a motivation in her son’s to survive the quoted ghetto, the struggle! @zim began doing odd jobs around the neighborhood at an early age and completed his first song at age 9. “In the ghetto every one has to grow up fast.” @zim found this out first hand when in 1996 his brother was stolen from his family by a street tragedy. @zim realizing that he had to make things better for his mother became even more determine. He lets his songs speak on his pain, his struggle, his environment. @zim has astonished audiences through out the United States. He has performed at the BET “Free for Life Foundation” and “The Tommy Hilfiger Mix Tape” release party just to name a few. @zim has given electrifying performances with such industry icons as “Black Rob”, “Pharaoh Monch”, “Miri Ben-Ari” and the legendary “Nas”. @zim has appeared on mix tapes around New York City. He has head lined street mix tapes like the Mad Ones ‘Fight Club’ mix tape, where hip hop greats like “Busta Rhymes”, “Missy Elliot”, and “Joe Buddens” and “50 Cent” have been placed after him. Although @zim produces many of his on tracks this multi talented artist has done a lot of work with some of the top producers in the industry. @zim writes all of his lyrics and has done ghost writing for many aspiring artist.

@zim’s current demo contains club hits like “It’s Over” and “Here for a Minute” along with the street anthem “Get your Mo Jo Up”! These are three of the 20 plus tracks on that same demo which is softly titled ‘today the streets, tomorrow the world!’ @zim’s freestyles are already receiving heavy rotation on mix tapes across the city and with labels wanting to know, to understand what an artist is bringing to the table one has no choice but to notice the voice that will change the industry and set the new standard of what an artist must have to appeal to the people across the globe today and for the years to come.
