In Remembrance of Captain Jack
The song has now been removed from the game.
One year ago today, the Bemani community lost one of its great artists. On October 22nd, 2005, Francisco Gutierrez, better known as Captain Jack, passed away at the age of 43.
There’s no denying that Captain Jack was a very influential part of the DDR music genre, and here at FFR we want to honor that. One year ago, we released his self-titled theme song in the game for a week. In commemoration of all that Captain Jack did for the music world, we will be releasing the song once again, for a few days.
You can find the song in the first slot of the Dance genre, have fun, and remember the great man that Francisco was.
Tak tak tak, never looking back
Come and fight for Captain Jack
Say it slow, but say it loud
Join the peace camp and you will be proud

Resonance Changes & Simfiles Update
Earlier today we added a new feature to Resonance that allows you to go in and choose any of the top 100 played simfiles from within Resonance itself. This makes it easier to play the more popular songs without having to search for them and provides an easy to use interface for new users to get started. This also should give you simfile creators a reason to promote your simfiles.
You can always check out the latest top 100 group by going to Resonance Top 100
Within that same URL you can play any of your own simfiles that you have uploaded by clicking on the “My Simfiles” group in the group select. It will auto-detect and populate the game wheel with all your uploaded sims. This allows you to upload your sims to the simfile section from home and then play them remotely from any location that has a browser and flash plugin. (School, McDonalds, Hotel, Prison, Car, Swamp, etc..etc..)
Don’t forget that Resonance does have a high score table that you can see by viewing that simfile in the simfiles section.
Over the past 24 hours we have restricted simfile access while we have updated security. We have now implemented the security updates and you are able to upload as you please. Enjoy!
Any Questions?

SOTW – Insanity For Your Keyboard
Every once in awhile we release a song of the week that is so insane, so difficult, so mind blowing that I can merely sit back and watch the first few arrows fly by before I fail. This week we add one of those songs to our lineup. This song is suitable only to master players out there in FFR. I am not joking.. There are probably under 300 people out there out of 1 million players that can even finish this song with combo over 250.
Up for the challenge?
Song: Grand Gallop Chromatique
Artist: Franz Liszt / A. Laviano
Stepfile Maker: Shashakiro
Genre: Classic
Difficulty: 13 (no name… with FotBB and Silence)
Good luck, you will need it.
Cheers,
Cobalt Flux Hard Pad Winner is… aoe511!
First of all, I must say that I am amazed at the response we received on this contest. I wasn’t amazed by the number of people that responded but what they actually took the time to write. I fully expected 100% silly comments, but.. everytime I sat down to check the respsonses, I found myself reading real comments about what FFR means to them. It is just really amazing and we all really appreciate your words.
Seriously, thank you everyone for the support. Now there is something important at hand to announce. Yes, the easiest contest of your entire life has come to a close.
And the winner is…. aoe511!
aoe511, you have 24 hours from the time of this post to contact me via PM or somehow respond and let us know that you are indeed alive.
Thanks again everyone for all the kind words. We appreciate it like you wouldn’t believe.
Now go spread the word about FFR!!
Cheers,

1 Million Member Spontaneous Contest Celebration Maximus!
See that picture? Yeah, the one to the right. That is a $299 hard pad from Cobalt Flux. The best DDR hard pad that money can buy.
Do you want to win that pad? Of course you do. And… We are going to be the ones to give you a chance at it.
Right about now you are probably freaking out, thinking about how hard this contest is going to be. I mean, it must be something so difficult that only Shashakiro could win. Right?… Nope! In the long standing tradition of being spontaneous with our contests, we are going to make this contest so easy that anyone can enter and win. You don’t even have to speak English. Read more… »
Can You Believe It? 1,000,000 Members
I still can’t.. I mean, I sit every day working on our games and I still can’t grasp the fact that after almost 4 years, we still have almost 1000 member signups a day. What amazes me even more is that people signup because they want to. They definitely don’t need to signup, but at the same time, they care to be an active participant on the site and want to watch their progress in the game(s). It is almost hard to believe.
This year has brought plenty of change to FFR. Probably the most change in it’s 4 year history. We have completely redesigned the site from the ground up, came out with 3 new games, developed a profile system, numerous new stat features, seen a few people move on, seen a few people move in, brought in some amazing new developer talents (Rickz0rz, Kit, Jason and more!) and just keep moving forward at a rocket like pace. Seriously, nobody will slow us down. Read more… »
