Gameplay Competition!

Clear your schedules and get your ice packs ready!  This Saturday, we’ll be running a 24 hour gamewhoring competition.  If you check the daily stats page, you’ll see that nobody has gotten over 400,000,000 grand total score in months.  I feel that that is unacceptable.  So this contest is my way of forcing/rewarding the brave men or women who dare to try to tackle 24 hours of FFR.

Plenty of notice so that everyone can clear their schedules and plan out a strategy.  The competition will last from 12:01am CST until 11:59pm CST on Saturday (that’s when the daily scores re-set every day).  Highest grand total score wins!

1st place will win an FFR T-Shirt and a 1 year subscription.  2nd place will get a 1 year subscription.  3rd place will get a 6 month subscription.  4th and 5th places will each get a 3 month subscription.

Lastly… anyone who cheats (and you will be caught) will be castrated.  Even if you’re female.

I’m thinking of a random number (courtesy of random.org) between 1 and 100,000.  Closest person to the actual number will get a 6 month subscription.  1 guess per person.  Any attempts to be cute to circumvent that rule will result in the perpetrator being shot immediately.

Audio Spontaneous Contest

So, it has been brought to my attention that we haven’t done a news post in a few days… I feel obligated to rectify that situation.

Record yourself saying something funny in 30 seconds or less and email it to me. REMOVED. THE SUBMISSIONS MUST BE ATTACHMENTS TO THE EMAIL. IF YOU SEND ME A LINK TO A HOSTING SITE, I WILL IGNORE IT. I’ll listen to them and decide which is the funniest, then make that available to all of you. Needs to be SFW.

Limit 2 submissions per user, max. Please do not flood my email with nonsense… you won’t make me happy. If you’re unsure how to record yourself… all you need is a microphone of some sort. Download audacity and use that to record yourself. Please send me the files in a compressed format (mp3, ogg, etc… no wavs please).

Let’s say the winner gets a 1 year subscription. Potential runners up if I have a hard time deciding. If you want to upload your submissions and let everyone hear them, you can do that too… post the link in the comments of this news post. Contest ends whenever I wake up tomorrow.

What did I eat last night?

Spontaneous Contest! I mentioned WHERE MalDON and I ate last night in pro chat…. but the real question is… WHAT did I eat last night? The more specific the better. Whoever comes the closest will win a 3-month subbie. Post your guesses in the comments here. And don’t be retarded and spam the crap out of the comments with 50 or 200 guesses… I’ll ignore and/or ban you. This will end whenever I feel like ending it… probably in an hour or two. Or if someone manages to give EXACTLY what I ate, which is really hard, because I expect it to be 100% specific.

A Cure For Our Boredom: User Generated Entertainment!

So, MalDON and I are sitting in an airport waiting for our connecting flight.  We’re going to be stuck in an undisclosed location once we land for the evening, waiting for the mythical Synthlight to appear.  We figure that the best cure for this cabin fever is some lulz created by all of you.  So be on the look out for contests and other shinanigans starting in about 6 hours.  The FMO/FGO event songs for today will go up this evening as well!

So, I’m sitting here in NYC, waiting for the basketball games to start tonight, and I’m bored.  I thought, “Tass, how can you cure your bored while involving the FFR community?”  And I replied to myself, “Well Tass, we can run a contest, we can.”

Photo Scavenger Hunt Winners!

First off, if you haven’t checked out the entry photos, definitely browse through the thread.  There is some seriously funny stuff in there.

Congrats to our winner!  Jtehanonymous!  His g-o-a-t-s-e, his nose fries, his lawn gnomes, his human pyramid, and especially his friendly UPS man all helped him to rack up the most points.  Below is, in my humble opinion, his best picture:

2nd place was a tie between Ohsosilly and Tired_old_man, both with some amazing shots.  4th place went to Jaito and 5th to datenshi-requiem.

I hope everyone enjoyed this as much as I did.  I look forward to coming up with more stuff for you guys to take photos of!
