Note: This is mainly a mouse driven music game and should not be too hard on your PC's CPU. However, keep an eye out for keyboard driven X,Y, and Z combos as things continue to develop.

FFR Site Notes 6/15/06

Ok, the new Quad Opteron server (which is seemingly faster than a Quad Xeon) is pulling some serious CPU cycles. As you know, we have been beating on the hosting to get the new site up and running. Thusfar, the dualcore Opterons are not seeing a maxout but we do get into memory as the databases ramp up. The previous Linux based server proved to be very capable but seeing how this slick rack has been holding up, we would not hesitate to add another Quad Opteron in the near feature if FFR continues to expand.

The server has lowered our over server load and made things like the video chat, multiplayer server and radio servers all possible on a single current Quad Opteron high end server. As a side effect, it lowered our operating costs.
