Good Mainstream Music
I'm getting tired of having people ask what my favorite artist/song is only to stumble over my feet a few seconds afterwards. Like most other FFRers, I'm not really into much mainstream stuff. So naturally, to connect to what others listen to, I need some good mainstream music. Anyone have any suggestions for me and the rest of FFR?
--- Gym Class Heroes, Dream Theater, The Beatles, The Gorillaz, Franz Ferdinand, Jay-Z (just a couple of songs, never heard much from him), Nas (same for Jay-Z), and HIM (same for Nas) are the closest things to big mainstream artists that I have. Unfortunately, when you compare this to most people, this list isn't a lot to spark discussion, especially considering how this isn't a good reflection of what music I'm really into and it even once gave a false impression of what music I like to some kid a few months ago. I don't exactly know how mainstream electronic artists like Prefuse 73, Aphex Twin, and Boards of Canada are. I doubt many people listen to Miles Davis or TMBG, either. Last.fm isn't a good representation of how popular music is outside the Internet, hehe. I guess that stuff will suffice, though. If you have a list of a lot of semi-known artists, you're bound to find one somebody knows.

Re: Good Mainstream Music
Ehh, I used to like HIM. Techno got rid of any part of me that liked gothic rock, though.
The only band I like that's now considered mainstream is RHCP, and that's just because of Stadium Arcadium having an extremely large amount of radio playback lately. |

I think it really depends on what type of music you're into.
I could name plenty of bands you may or may not like though. Give me an idea first, and I'll act accordingly.

Re: Good Mainstream Music
Just go to mtv.com.
You can find several mainstream artists because that's all MTV cares about. |

Kaiser Chiefs, The Killer, The feeling, The Artic Monkeys, The automatic and Razor light. A few mainstream bands for you.
