My mothers' town house was burnt!

Late last night my mom came to my place and said there was a fire. The neighbors town house caught fire, most likely from the furnace, but still not 100% sure. My mom and brother didn't suffer any injuries, and not everything was destroyed. The upstairs bedrooms and everything up there is more than likely just gone from the looks of it. Down stairs has some smoke and water damage, but mostly salvageable.

My mom neighbor was forced to drop from her second story window to get out, and has a broken ankle and broken back. Thankfully, her young daughter was not home as she may have had similar injuries as her mother.

The Red Cross has helped in the way they do and supplied a few necessities that were needed. Insurance has put my family in a hotel for a few weeks at most, so hopefully they can find other living arrangements in that time. My church family has also been very helpful to my mother today providing food, gas cards, walmart cards, clothes, and things of that nature. Even a lady that over heard out conversation while at restaurant tonight paid it forward and put some money towards our tab. I've been seeing a lot of good in people lately and it pleases me greatly to know there are decent people that help you without saying a word.

Just wanted to let you guys know, and if there are any other prayer people, they are accepted gratefully that everything from here out goes well.

There seems to be a lot of unfortunate events as of late, so I hope that no one else has anything go wrong in their lives, and I say that for everybody here in the FFR community as well.

Even when the worse you can imagine is happening to you, there are still good people around to help each other. Focusing on the positive side of things makes those moments easier to deal with. Good to know that your mom's house is not a complete loss and nobody lost their lives.

Sometimes I feel that god hates us and all these unfortunate events as of late are atonement for our sins.

my parents had a house fire almost ten years ago. my mom used the insurance money to do a bunch of renovations.

it's a huge pain in the ass for a while, but it might not be so bad in the end.

Not trying to push my own issues over this if that's what it feels like, extremely worried about Kanzas right now. Man, I'm extremely grateful that no one has been put into a life-threatening scenario.

These coincidences just seem unholy to me, that is all. Then again, my brain has been running in circles non-stop since this morning, so it may just be me.

It does seem like it's been a shitty weekend for quite a few people for some reason. I hadn't wanted to say anything because Gold's situation was worse than mine but my mom was admitted to the hospital Friday night with some heart issues. She's still in the hospital and they haven't figured out what the problem is.

Sorry to hear what happened Kansas, fortunately everyone's alive. I know it can be rough losing stuff but at least it can be replaced in time.

Sending good vibes to all of you. I'm happy your mom had a lot of support off the bat, and everyone was mostly safe (hope her neighbor will heal quickly, very scary but I'm sure she's happy to have gotten out alive).

And I wish you and your family the best as well, Psychoangel. Hopefully they'll figure out what the issues are for your mom and can fix them.

I can't believe how rough it's been for everyone.

As for GS and Psychoangel, your personal issues I will also keep in my prayers that all is well!

So much stuff has happened to many people as of late, i hope nothing else serious occurs.

Why is it that all of our moms are getting shitty things happening to them?

My mom was just diagnosed with stage 2 lung cancer a few weeks ago…
