In all seriousness, I was seriously hampered by my late submission in R1, so the only way I could take serious command of the tournament was to go for the Hail Mary and make a ridiculously unorthodox pick. STR in R5 made the most sense because it made the least sense. Everybody that struggled with the song would have gone for INT or LUK, and all of the good players would (or at least we're supposed to) pick DEX on the account that said songs would most likely be out of AAA range and thus DEX would yield a higher base score. The only mistake that I made was not taking the time to improve my R5 score on the offset chance that someone was thinking along the same lines as I was (again, dammit, Halogen).

But I guess Halogen may have just secured himself (herself?) the victory in this tournament. Now that we've revealed our hands, players are now going to consciously think about taking big risks to improve their overall position. Thus, no matter what decision I will make, I have to assume that at least three people made the same decision I made, which in turn affects the stat improvements. I'm going to have to go to the drawing board for this one.

It says though it gives you a % of the maximum score for your division, then why would Halogen's STR pick affect someone several divisons lower? And what exactly does it mean by "giving the normalization of stats some focus?"

I guess I should have been asking these question back in round 1.

if 10 people pick strength for the round, the 1000 total skill points will be distributed to all 10 people based on how close to their max possible score they got.

this is regardless of division ofc, because your % of the max score is already normalized that way

Ok, I just didnt realize it split between all divisions, when it said "your division," I thought STR specifically stayed within your own division. I just hadn't been paying attention to it until I actually picked STR.

There are many choices I'd make differently if I paid more attention to the rules from the start lol

Makes sense not to know the details while choosing stats, but it would also be nice to see how combat works once there is no way for us to affect it.

Thanks; those hands were utter nightmares, causing most of my misses in the other runs. It honestly took me some 20 tries to manage that, lol.
