Default Yoshi's Wooly World

So as of recent, a LOT of gameplay has been uploaded to Youtube and the likes and god damn does it remind me of Yoshi's Island in an extreme good way.

It's also god damn adorable, NFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF...

Too bad peeps in the US are still in the unknown of release date. Peeps in Europe and Australia are going to get their hands on this gem at the end of this month.

I really would like to know when I can get it because I'm pretty sure Region Lock is still a thing (unfortunately).

Yep, I'll be picking this up. Been waiting for another Yoshi's Island esque game for a long time (the handheld version was a bit lackluster imo).

I remember as a kid renting Yoshi's Story from Blockbuster and I personally had more fun then I could ever than SMB. Watching that video brings "finally!" tears to my eyes lmao

I barely touched Yoshi's Island though, but when I did it was a blast on the SNES.

from the gameplay video, it looks like they did a good job of avoiding the crap they did with the handheld version, in which the game felt like it was catered to 4 year olds

excited for this, or my name isn't YOSHl

So yeah... I forgot to update this thread, but apparently Yoshi's Woolly World will NOT come to the US until:

OCTOBER

I mean... why? Whatever, for you peeps that are not in the US, it's coming out this week, so have fun and all that good stuff!

I really wish the Wii-U wasn't region locked... blaaaaah

The fact reviews of major publishers are coming out for the game is just salt to the wound.

Like I really would love to play the game over the summer.

Anyone playing this?

It got mediocre reviews but, so far they're such BS. This game is amazing and the spiritual successor to Yoshi's Island that I've been waiting for

Finished the first world. Having a ton of fun so far. The levels are quite long and elaborate and finding 100% is quite difficult.

Loving it so far! It's so dang adorable and I was glad to see that it played just like Yoshi's Island. I'm currently in World 2 having 100% World 1. Which was quite challenging, especially the extra level in the first world. It's just a wonderful feel good game, also it's got a really sweet soundtrack!

I don't know why this got mediocre reviews, it's definitely living up to the Yoshi Island brand perfectly with its own charm.

That and I find everything in this game to be absolutely adorable and very creative. I feel like every level thus far has introduced a new mechanic, which is great I think. The special levels are also really interesting. The game is not hand holding you at all when it comes to finding or just doing some levels (especially those special levels).

Meh, big site reviewers don't seem to embrace good 2d platformers anymore.

Gamespot gave a dumpster review to DK Tropical Freeze just like it did Woolly world and I personally thought Freeze was one of the best 2d platformers...ever. A phenomenal and insanely underrated game.

(Speaking of which...I'm due for another playthrough of that after I'm done Yoshi :P )

When it comes to classically refined nintendo games I honestly prefer to just ignore the reviews nowadays.

Yeah pretty much same with me, I rarely look up any reviews for games or even movies for that matter. DKC Returns and Tropical Freeze were definitely some of the best platformers in ages, I agree.
