Using FFR music on youtube
If a song has copy write, but is in FFR, if I make a video of me playing the FFR song, can I dispute copy write claims which block my video?

Re: Using FFR music on youtube
If I had to guess, I'd say don't dispute the claim. The music on FFR is obviously owned by a third-party (the artist/the label etc...). Since FFR is the site that's granted permission to use the music, only FFR can host the music. Uploading a video to YouTube is allowing YouTube to use the music which is not allowed.
I'm not an expert though nor do I have any experience with this, just my $0.02. |

Re: Using FFR music on youtube
my 2 cents is that it's possible to dispute it because it's in public domain and the permission rights were given to FFR to allow the use of the content at their own extent as long as they don't profit off of it. But then again, laws are based on where you live, and I'm not an expert in the field.
Why do you want to dispute it? Is it being blocked from other countries? Are they monetizing off of it? Is the video downright unviewable? Last edited by gold stinger; 11-21-2014 at 09:08 PM.. |

This is how artists such as Skrillex can have their songs in a game such as Far Cry and still issue takedown orders for gameplay videos that include that song. Stupid, but that's the law.
