Re: Official Tournament Round 3 Song Discussion
a gnat keeps hovering near my face and it's messing up all my runs.. anyway my biggest gripe with Weapon is that there's just barely enough time to click the reset button and place your fingers on the right keys before it starts.. why isn't there at least 2 seconds of nothing in the beginning like it says there needs to be in the submission rules? doesn't help when you're raging over a file and you have to reset like 5 times in a row because you can't focus right away.

Re: Official Tournament Round 3 Song Discussion
It feels that the Jazzman - Super Mario Bros for D3 is not synced right. I cannot seem to find a good offset. Currently using 2 frames but I think the correct sync is between 1 and 2.

Re: Official Tournament Round 3 Song Discussion
Yeah, I'm having trouble doing it on 0 offset. I don't understand why I can't get proper sync for conversion at the moment; this has never happened to me. It's quite frustrating.
I'm gonna try getting proper syncs one more time and see how it goes. I'm really sorry about this happening -- I've literally converted hundreds of files this way for my offline, yet I can't seem to get it right during the tournament (go figure). I'm gonna see if I can get a proper offset that allows me to sync things more closely for round 4, because it is somewhat embarrassing to see these files off this way. Re: Official Tournament Round 3 Song Discussion
D1: Catchy song, good simple file.
D2: Would be a very good file ... if it was synced lol. D3: WTF lol? Those patterns are crap. It's a shame that 'Jazzman' and 'Mario Mix For Piano', two songs I like a lot have terrible files to go with them. D4: A very good file, well stepped to the music. D5: Best file of the tourney so far along with 'Fire'. Loved the song and was well stepped. Definitely much better than Jae's fuckpit of a file but that wasn't hard to improve on. D6: Best D6 file so far this tourney IMO, shame I got such a shit score on it! XD

Re: Official Tournament Round 3 Song Discussion
Pembroke Welsh Corgi - fun little easy chart, nice little speedup stuff at the end.
ice valley "beyond the searoad" - not much to comment on, nice easy chart. Jazzman - Super Mario Bros - Decent song, chart was ok. Not much else to add. Slam the Door (Rogue Remix) - Didnt think I was going to like this when I started listening to the song, but even though the song wasnt my taste the chart was pretty fun. I'd play this again when Im bored. Nice Chart Undiscovered Colors - Goddamn thanks for saving this song. That bowl of aids infested diarrhea Jae threw in game was an embarrassment. Tbh, Im not a fan of your charts nor these kinds of songs, but this was pretty damn fun. If only people would step buzz/beep/fart noise songs like this they would actually be tolerable and worth playing. Patterns flowed quite well and was just a joy to play compared to the garbage other people step to songs like these. Thanks for the neat chart, easily my favorite from you. Weapon - Going against the crowd and saying I dont like the chart. It is pretty damn annoying, the jump jacks are icky and there seems to be lots of anchored ones, file is a pretty good boo trap chart if you arent careful. Cant say the chart is poorly done because it clearly is done well, just wasnt fun to play imo. |

Re: Official Tournament Round 3 Song Discussion
My favorite file this round would be ice valley. Not the most innovative file but I really digged the song for some reason, probably because of the old school synths used in it.
Undiscovered colors is good and I can see why people favour this over jae's file in terms of playability but (ignoring the long intro and long middle part), jae's first half of the song was a lot more fun to play imo. It put more emphasis on key sounds by how jae used bursts and jacks, whereas this chart feels like a nonstop stream. Jae's second half was retardedly hard though and the breakdowns should've been cut out, which is what this chart does right. I also agree with bmah that this is more a song to be listened to than to be stepped.
