I still have a PS2, but I'm using it to finish that dang million roses level in We Love Katamari.

As for Grandia II, I got lucky and snagged a copy at a pawn shop for $5 but yeah it's really tough to find. It goes for about $21 complete on eBay if you're willing to pay that much... disc-only listings go for as cheap as $10. If you have a Dreamcast, the Dreamcast version is a little bit cheaper. The first Grandia on the PSX is even rarer, I think I paid over $30 for that one.

Dart, Haschel and Lavitz is ~da dream team~ in that game.
Dragoon was an excellent game. I also enjoyed Tales of Destiny II quite a bit. |

I usually replace Lavitz with Rose, for some reason he can't deal as much damage when I'm playing.
I'd love to have Tales of Destiny but that game is super rare. I might be getting Threads of Fate from a friend soon, though...

Re: PlayStation 2 shipments in Japan are officially done (end of the sixth-generation
I still have my old PS2, and it works fine.
Kingdom Hearts and Star Wars Battlefront were a few of my favorite series. FFX was also pretty awesome. The games that currently see a lot of regular use on the console are the DDR Max, Extreme, and Supernova series, for workout purposes. Here's a list of all my PS2 games. A lot of these games I haven't even played yet, sadly. |

I don't think I've EVER heard anyone claim their favourite game to be Legend of Dragoon before. That's not a bash, I loved that game. Just soooo unexpected lol.
I wish I never sold my copy of Suikoden II.

Re: PlayStation 2 shipments in Japan are officially done (end of the sixth-generation
I believe Tales of Destiny value can go over 80 bucks by now, and that's talking mint condition. I heard many good words on the Tales series, I think my youth buddy had a ToD II copy which he gave in exchange for some other crap. Shame, really. Never heard of The Legend of Dragoon until now.
Might be because I never really had the chance to venture into other consoles, only when we were visiting or when I was at my friends' house. Which were only my friends because they had an unjustifiable amount of games or since they had the only trampoline in the area. In sum, I was loaning my childhood. Well, now that the gaming industry is preparing for the next-gen, I think it is safe to assume the accessibility of everything is going to drop significantly. Save it while it last. It's sad really. *tears* |

And then Suikoden II... holy mother, that game is stupidly rare. Like, I'm not even going to try to get a copy of that game, ever. I'll stick with emulators for games that are that rare. For shits and giggles here's my PS2 game list:
