Re: How to get better at FFR
I have switched to spread, but I dunno. It's a retarded setup, but I'm used to it.

Re: How to get better at FFR
I switched from as kl to vb io and there's been a huge improvement in my PA ability. I feel like having my hands closer together instead of farther apart helps improve my keystroke speed for trills and jacks.

Re: How to get better at FFR
Please try to check the dates of recent posts before posting yourself, that way you don't bump a dead thread
(That was for the other two threads, this one wasn't too terrible) Also, I would suggest posting in the newbie thread so people can get to know you.

I'm currently using my index and my middle fingers on both hands. It's really helpful and is highly recommended Last edited by Mattipii; 09-20-2011 at 11:38 AM.. Reason: conjoining two posts into one |

Re: How to get better at FFR
honestly, I'm not a bad player and I never took advice from anyone. and I don't have any to give. All i have to say is practice and just practice.
the only other thing i can say is play spread and up your speed and use a decent keyboard.

Re: How to get better at FFR
I learnt to play with my index and middle fingers of my right hand, but for some retarded reason used my ring and middle finger of my left hand, and by now it's impossible to switch it back (it results in the most horrible results ever), so I guess I'm an odd player. I only really notice the limitations when I have to trill and in tricky combos where the down key is repeated a lot.

Re: How to get better at FFR
If you're in a slump where you can't increase your PA, play Stepmania and work on your MA. It helps. Trust me. You can't increase FFR's judge, but you can SM's.
Just thought I would share that. |

Re: How to get better at FFR
I've been playing for awhile and never really took any tips or advice... while everything in the first post seems pretty generic, I have a question. I noticed on this last page the mention of "Play Stepmania"
Why does this help? And does it REALLY help? Or will it differ between people? I tried Stepmania a bit back but didn't get far into it because I didn't quite like the feel, but I continuously see some of the top players mention playing Stepmania =/ |

Re: How to get better at FFR
It helps because the accuracy timing is different. Not just because the judge is higher, but because it seems you have to be more precise. (even if SM is on Judge 2, you still have to hit pretty much dead on..)
And yeah further more you can test your accuracy and push it to the limit by jacking the judge level up. (I'm not a pro or anything, so they may say differently) |

FFR went down late 2009 and was resurrected last October.
Did you have a question in regard to improving your arrow-smashing skill? Last edited by supermousie; 11-18-2011 at 10:33 PM.. |

Re: How to get better at FFR
I find the best way to get better is find a song you really love, but is way too hard for you. And play that song over and over until you are used to it's difficulty. Then move on to other hard songs.
