free acc > mp3 converter
i have about 9 gigs of songs i got from my deceased ipod just before it died (yay me). But the problem is that all the songs are in acc format and they're all in wierd names like this
[img=http://img29.imageshack.us/img29/4338/ipodsongs.jpg] By zhul4nder I was wondering if there was a program out there that i could download to convert them all into mp3 format and show their song names as their file names -edit- I forgot to mention that they are all executable by realone player and itunes. The main reason that I want to change their format is to read it with windows media and be able to see their names

Re: free acc > mp3 converter
will it solve my problem of not being able to read the names?
When i play with either realoneplayer or itunes, the names, genre, artists, etc can all be read....inside the itunes/realoneplayer window. What I want is able to sort through the music outside of itunes -edit- ok, so you got me a player that will play those files...but what if I want to rid of the ipod's nonclassical songs? How would I know which ones are the classical songs and which ones are not? -edit- alright...new question I have an itunes playlist of all the songs that I want in a folder...how can I make that playlist into a folder?

Re: free acc > mp3 converter
Yeah, I am an idiot who doesn't care about audio quality, especially if my left speaker is blown out and 2500+ 320kbps songs takes up a crap load of hard drive space. Especially if I can't tell if songs sound any different between 160kbps and 320kbps.

Re: free acc > mp3 converter
Yeah just use foobar2000
I think when you copy the M4As from your iPod even though the filenames are weird they still have the correct tags in them so foobar would be able to read the track and artist names. Using the converter in foobar you can easily set it to rename the newly converted MP3s (or whatever you want) to the track name in the tag. If you wanted to get rid of the nonclassical songs, then just add them all into foobar, sort by the genre tag assuming you tagged genres, and remove the classical ones... It's all very easy if you think about it Unless they're those AAC files from the old iTunes store, then you're screwed

Re: free acc > mp3 converter
I had a few programs by a company called Boilsoft on my old PC for that kind of stuff, but I'm pretty sure they weren't free...
