Ouch, sounds like you are really close to the action. We just have really bad smelling, smoky air. When I went for a run earlier it stunk and visibility was kinda bad. (on top of the regular LA smog)

I was indeed really close to the action, and the air here is REALLY VERY BAD. 10% Humidity, that's not good.

The evacuation just ended about 15 minutes ago, so I managed to get on the computer.
On another note, the Winds are coming up again, and my family actually saw the fire go in a trail, pretty much. Then it split, so now there is 2 trials of fire. =\

Ok, since people seem to be baffled on why California has so many fires, let me explain.

California get these winds we call the Santa Ana Winds. They blow very hard, and often happen when it is very hot. The vegetation around southern California is built to burn, that's just how things work here. it doesn't take much for a fire to start and spread.

Virus, I'm confused. You're back from evacuation. I assume this means you were already evacuated, and have now returned. Next, you say the fires are getting worse. Why would they let you return to the area that's so hazardous? The area you just said the fires are so bad be...

Dude, it's November. That's crazy. We get a quite a few fires in BC in the summer, not many reach towns and cities though. We're quite a bit further north than you guys, so we would never get any fires between Sept-Feb.

I've come to notice that Canada has hardly any natural disasters. No tornadoes (maybe a couple in the praries, I dunno), no major floods (the only ones that occur are real close to sea level areas right off the shore), no typhoons/tsunamis, no earthquakes (I've yet to witness one that could disturb water in a glass).

Big fires lol.

I loved the one that hit here about 4 years ago. School was closed for 2 weeks due to horrible air quality.

Having to evacuate was gay. Fire came within half a mile of home.

SoCal sucks kthxbai.

You're not from around here I take it? The politics of evacuations are very half-assed. I was evacuated when a fire near me wasn't even a threat.

I figured there's a meaning to the word "evacuation" that I was missing. Care to fill in the blanks...

Generally evacuation means leaving the area or city...

People don't notice, but Mother Earth is one pissed off woman right now. We keep destroying this planet more and more, and she'll continue to inflict harm on the human race. Believe it or not, that's up to you.. Beliefs to each it's own. Nonetheless, We've killed this planet so much that she's finally had enough and she's going on a rampage. Hurricanes are doing much more damage, floods are getting higher, fires are spreading. Just wait, until.. the ice caps melt or something, and she'll have more fun with us then you'll ever come to set eyes upon. We're doomed, deal with it.

Either way, why would he be returned from an evacuation right back into the fire?

Eek, that sucks. All we ever get here in Oregon is rain, rain, and more rain. Well, occasionally we get some fires in the deep south-east, but that's about 400 miles from my place.
Anyway, hope you make it out of that crap okay. =/

That's scientifically proven, not because of "mother nature". Santa Ana winds have been causing little embers to spread to other sites, that's the reason for our fires. The fact that we pollute our Earth so much has caused Hurricanes to be formed at a quicker, and more dangerous pace. Not because "mother nature is pissed".

It doesn't really matter if the fired was out when he was gone, it's that it came back, and so very close to him, and they allowed him to stay. It doesn't add up in my opinion.
