Re: FFR Hall of Fame
@ Devonin
I definitely see what you're saying, I still think the way I'm going to do it works just as fine. For the player Hall of Fame, we're going to first do research. Looks at the achievements set by players that first come to mind via threads, archives, etc. Gather up a list of players that seem "induction worthy based on the time period", and categorize them by age. We're not going to be placing people in order of how good they are, rather by when they should be inducted. I asked everyone to look for when each player was at the prime of their game, or rather, at what point in time the player should have been inducted. Considering we're doing it like this, we are still able to induct active players at a certain time period. With each person we induct, we'll list a small amount of information for why they were inducted, followed by whether or not they are active or not. For active players that are inducted, each time this list gets updated, we can just add more to the information next to their name (if other things are worth recognizing). As for the other types of Hall of Fame categories, we're not going to need judges. I'll be holding polls for each category. We're hoping to have the Player HoF done by around the 7th, and the rest of the HoF categories done before 2008. I'd actually like to release the actual entire list New Years Eve; every category and the other things we'll be adding to it. This gives about 3 weeks for polls, and I'll figure out how long each will last/how many there will be after the PHoF is done. |

definitely baha, dj_ridder, reach, ignite for 2002-2004, maybe arch0wl, i was like a little bit after his time. what I mean by that is the forums. I played ffr at least a year and a half before I went on the forums.

I dont now if you want nominations or just comments about how we feel about how your runiing it, but I say that for the 2006 era Bill_Clinton kicked alot of ass.

Re: FFR Hall of Fame
DotY has much more to do with forum stupidity, whereas HoS would incorporate more of the scores bs element. Not that we really need it, as I mentioned.

For all you know, maybe someone out there plays FFR with chopsticks and has managed to AAA something fierce.

Re: FFR Hall of Fame
i've got to agree with devonin. any real HoF only has a list of inducted members... although within that list, they can be listed as to whether they were a player, a coach, a front-office person, an owner, a broadcaster, etc etc. clearly most would be players, but a few from the other categories would be appropriate as well.
in this instance, the game. but also SIU, MeTrivia, the forums, MP chat, Vid chat... as examples of other potential ways of getting in. but i'd say the standards would be much higher, maybe where you'd consider 10-15 for players initially, maybe 2-3 tops from each of the rest... then in the future, consider 3-5 for players each time with 1-2 from the others. basically, like a real sports HoF. which, if you need information on, I know WAY too much about. my grandfather wrote a book about sports halls of fame.
