I'll take a shot at 'em, you know where to send 'em. I'll probably put a lot of effort into the longer (assuming we have to stepp the full versions), less steppable song, to have a higher chance of getting my submission in.

We need permission for more songs! I have every RBF CD, so mp3s wouldn't be a problem.

But still, we have permission for awesome songs.

I made sure to get Beer. Normally, I say "Your choice." but this time I asked for beer straight up, then asked for another song to promote their newest CD like I always do.

Someone PLEASE make Beer a decent difficult. The drums in that song make it an easy Very Difficult or over. Im sure its going to be like always though; Best simfile wins.

What are the chances of getting more song permission from them?

Without a doubt.

The manager was real nice and seemed to like the idea. Lets get him the embedded player, through it to the band, and then see how they like this.

...If they even do add the player. The manager said to send the code and he'll pass it along to the band, but some people may not want a game on there myspace, who knows. :-P

We'll see when I get a response.

Reel: O Rly?

Big: Ya Rly!

Fish: NO WAI!

(22:35:07) TheyMightBeGiants have entered the room.

Can you send me the mp3(s) of the song(s) that haven't been done yet? Sorry if this seems like I'm being hard to work with, but I don't have an AIM/MSN. :( However, I do have an e-mail: stonescape9@hotmail.com

Sir_Thomas

I have A Static Lullaby: The Art of Sharing Lovers but NO ONE seems to want to step it. Seeing its a semi big band it may be smart to get that done fast because the guy said he would send over the permission stuff once we got the songs stepped.

Also, 311 responded and I talked to the manager. He was asking about it and I responded but no response since. I know they have a tour with the rapping
rabbi dude so maybe after their tour.

ok so here's the beer sync.

there's still one part that could probably use some tweaking but eh. it's around 135 or 140 or so whenever they come out of the interlude and back into the chorus. They tend to speed up (or at least the drummer does) a couple times when the chorus begins, which threw me. as always, feel free to tweak as you see fit.

also there might be a double bpm change on a beat somewhere in there from when I was messing around by hand tweaking a part. it's easily removed though if you can spot it in the .dwi (I didn't bother looking as it doesn't affect the file's sync. Might mess up ffr though but I don't know anything about the ffr converter).

I don't really care much about the collaboration thing. Feel free to include me if you want. It'll just give the angry masses someone to blame when the sync comes out bad ^^

anyway, here's sell out:

went much smoother than beer did. this time I didn't mess up in my scrolling and all the changes should be on downbeats as opposed to whatever the hell they ended up being on last time.

Yeah I was gonna do sell out til I realised the BPM changed every 5 seconds.

talisman
08-14-2007, 07:02 PM
there's only three "real" bpm changes in the song during the choruses. Otherwise it's within a normal range of variability.

talisman

ok here's party down.

This was a fun one... gotta love the random hip hop interludes at a quarter of the bpm. Also, thank god this was at a rock bpm and not a ska bpm.

and my gap is kinda squirrelly but whatever it's pretty damn close.

oh and I forgot to mention but on sell out I didn't step the slow down at the end or whatever. I tend to skip those, so good luck there.

Is ANYONE else making files for RBF still? otherwise, we're just about good to go on their player.
