 | Get stepmania.
Find stepmania folder in your C drive or whever you installed it
go to songs folder
make a "group folder" (call it like, "My files")
Add a folder inside the group folder. In that folder, put your song and a .sm file (you can use notepad to make it, then save it as a .sm) Open the Stepmania editor from within the game, it's the edit songs option on the main menu. |

 | well I really wouldn't do it if I were you... you should just stick with speed mods
but screencutting is just cutting off the bottom half of the screen so that you see fewer notes coming... it is the same concept as a speed mod... people used to do it before the speed mods came out
I would just use 1.5 or 1.75 as a speed mod instead

| my best advice would simply be to play songs at the level you can full combo about half of the time
I never even thought about AAAs until I had already gotten to the point where I could FC a few of the FMOs... then I went back and started AAAing standards and trickys
I personally screen cut with no speed mod but... since everyone says that is stupid I would advice finding a speed mod that works for you

| I think you lag more when your computer is heavy (not much free space). I have a lot of free space (like 120 GBs) so I don't lag. MAYBE (I'm not sure) if you uninstall some programs that you aren't using you don't lag anymore. And probably you already know this but, if you click the Q icon on the up left corner of the game screen you can turn low quality on, making less lag. |

It's how many perfects, good, averages, etc.. you get. Good PA means you get minimal goods, etc...
Also, to get a banner and background, you have to click the box on the right hand corner of your profile after opening the profile style settings and upload your images accordingly. |
| You mean increasing your PA? If so, then play really easy songs and try to AAA them. Work your way up. I suggest starting with songs such as Excite Bike, Power, Trip to the Moon, SuperMario 8Bit Remix, etc... |

| Technically, yes. A AAA basically means getting all perfects...however, the definition is kinda skewed on FFR. At least during the times of avmisses, where you couldn't obtain all perfects on some songs, a AAA meant getting the highest score possible on the song. In regards to your other question, overall rank isn't a big deal because you don't really get much credibility as to what overall score you have (i.e. how much you play), other than being called a gamewhore like lumphoextreme. We care more about your skill, and so the average rank reflects that. |
| Average rank is controlled by how well you do in songs. So go try and get the best scores in each song as you can...go for AAA! Overall rank is controlled by the overall score you have, I believe. So go play lots of songs, especially ones that provide big comboes. I wouldn't be too worried about overall rank though. |
