Old computer about shot...
Heh, the harddrive of it has lasted for over three years. It's old, and it's pretty much dying. I don't know how long it will last now, and I can hardly use FRAPS because of it. Which also kinda sucks. Oh, not to mention that saving a movie through Windows Movie Maker takes a helluva long time now. -.-

Re: Old computer about shot...
That seems like a very computer illiterate conclusion. Harddrives have a much longer lifespan then 3 years. If it works at all its rpm isnt going to get slower for whatever reason. You might have a ram problem or a cpu ghz problem. There are many alternate reasons your computer could be running slow but the harddrive isnt one of them

Re: Old computer about shot...
Um, I actually don't really remember how long I've had it. I actually think I remember it being from christmas of 2003, so I'm assuming it's four years old. Oh, and I've also forgotten that nobody has actually ever bothered getting good virus/spyware protection for it, which is probably another reason why it's slow as hell. <_<
I actually think it's 5 years old. |

Hard drives don't just slow down (at least I've never heard or read of it happening). It's most likely a RAM problem or you may even need a new video card.

Reinstall whatever OS you use, and magically it'll run really fast.
