So I'm taking a swing at a gabber track. I can probably get it done without any major inssues, but I'm a bit undecided on what kind of kick set I should go with. I don't know if I should use a long kick and go at 190 BPM, or use a shorter kick and go 360-400 BPM. What do you guys think?

Beyond just saying "don't do it" it really depends on what you're going for.
Without thinking about it I'd say go with the former. But then again, I don't make music so why should my opinion count for anything? Why did I post at all? Nevermind.

You don't have to be a musician/composer to criticize one.

It really depends on your taste. Clearly though you won't be wanting to use a kick sample whose sample length overlaps each other at your choice of BPM, unless you do some sample editing.
You also want to make sure that your choice of kick complements and doesn't conflict with other frequencies when it is triggering, throughout its trigger. Otherwise you might get dirty mud basses that swallow the rest of the song. |

Just do whatever you feel like! I know it's simple but try it out.

I love gabber songs...make it fast tempoed, so it makes us all go hyper! Hahaha...
