![]() Ok, so, I have a virus, lucky me right? Well anyways, I have this gay program called avast and I don't know how to work it. So I was wondering if anyone could link me to a virus program I can use for a little while that won't just let me scan, but will also kill the virus.

![]() You don't know how to use avast?
Just click scan, and it should pick it up.. I personally use NOD32. When avast finds it, it should suggest some options like qurantine, and such. |

The files are still on his computer. They just aren't on his EXACT account. Trust me. I had to do this MILLIONS of times.

![]() Uh, rebooting your computer doesn't remove it..
You have to remove the virus files, usually a .dll/exe in the windows folder |

![]() roofl, umm all i can suggest is to, locate where the file is. Go into safe mode and find the file then remove it from your computer. then reboot and whatnot.

![]() For future reference
You don't need to spend tons of money on this, or live of of a trial version which probably limits you... download AVG free edition. Only thing youll ever need. It's completely user friendly and easy enough to update. |

1) Try anti-virus removal tools as mentioned in posts above (and for the love of god not Norton or McAphail). 2) (ONLY DO THIS IF YOU KNOW WHAT THE HELL YOU'RE DOING) Try to eliminate as many processors as you can. Do this in task manager then go into 'Run' and type 'msconfig'. Uncheck everything you turned off. Also go into your hardrive and delete anything shifty. 3) Reformat. I think that's what everybody meant by 'reboot'. It is the final option and you can simply back up all your files to a disk then put them on your fresh computer. If these files are corrupted by the virus then you're SoL. Last edited by fido123; 05-11-2008 at 12:16 AM.. |

![]() I have to agree, norton would be the dumbest thing to waste your money on, considering that's basically considered the "norm," and with that said, it'd be the one everyone would make sure their virus would get around

![]() Yeah, I've got an old norton 2006 in my closet somewhere, I didn't like it :S
I've managed to get around without any virus protection for a year and a half now, not sure how I did it. I guess downloading good christian videos instead of that horrible horrible porn sure pays off. *twitch* |
