Default A nice way to start off the day

Just beat Cynic for the first time a few minutes ago. The damn song forced me to figure out how to do jackhammers at least somewhat effectively. Ignoring the jackhammers and the bullshit at the end, though, this song is really fun to play.

Now I'm working on Flight of the Bumblebee. I know I can beat it - I can get past the first long run until the first break in the stream, and I can get from that break to the end starting with almost no life. I just haven't been able to put those two together yet in one run. It doesn't help much that I can get like three runs at it at once, max, before my hand is in a condition where any more attempts are futile :P

Heh, I did have a go at K8107 a song or two after this. I did a little better at the jackhammers than I have done before, but it wasn't enough to make a difference :P

Those jackhammers are like the only things which make the song hard, too.

I was playing like crap through the first half of the song, hence the large miss count. Hell, I was sure throughout the first half that I wouldn't pass it that run through, but then things came together at the jackhammers. I'm sure I could do better if I tried, but the jackhammers (which I abhore) keep me from wanting to play this song too much.

Anyway, I just cleared Vanish Into Thin Air for the first time as a nice way to end the day. The doubles part that always gave me trouble really wasn't that bad after I played through the song on 0.8x and figured out that that point in the song goes entirely to the dums. I'd post the pic, but my score is complete ass since I'm too tired right now to actually play through the big long stream at the end properly :P Maybe I'll improve my score on it tomorrow once I'm done with FOTBB

You play Cynic 2x? Wow, I have trouble reading anything over 600BPM scroll speed. GJ, anyway...your skill level seems really close to mine.

Cynic is harder on 2x... you can't read the runs because the BPM is so high and they flash a lot. But you can't read the mashed up doubles on 1.5x... So... yeah.

I have no problem reading this on 2x. If anything, the runs are the easiest part of the song to read like that.

Hell, I like just about everything I play to be around this speed. I find that reading at this speed gives me the excitement and pep that I need to move my fingers fast. Of course, this is coming from someone who plays Run the Place Red on 3x, so your milage may vary.

Gah, I need to improve my score on this. Maybe in a day or two, once I am done with my break from hard songs.

Trust me, it won't take long for your score to improve. Mine was around this the first time I passed it...two days later it jumped to 81+...I couldn't explain it.

And no, I prefer the slower pace...I can't play Caprice on 1.5x, though I could when I played one-handed instead of two. I guess I'm still getting used to it, though I do have fond memories of speed rushes like the one you're talking about, Kefit.
