I need help on reading the arrows. :(

I've been playing DDR for 3 months now, every weekend! I'm pretty good I guess, I'm a standard player! Although I can play some songs on Heavy like "Butterfly" and such. I have trouble reading the arrows, especially the ones that are REALLY close... for example, the song "Can't Stop fallin' in Love" has those really close steps and fast too! I can't read it fast enough to step, I mean, if I memorized the song completely, then I could easily do them, but then again, I don't have time. Any suggestions? You guys think I should just keep playing and playing till I can read the arrows better? Or should I put it on 1.5x, but again, my problem is reading the close arrows because they go SO fast....

I can easily do the song "Bag" because its a slow song, but if it was fast, I wouldn't be able to do it!
