As many of you probably know, today is the 10th year anniversary of Kurt Cobain's death. MTV and MTV2 are airing a four-hour tribute starting at 8:00 tonight (ET). I think everyone should watch this, as Nirvana was one of the most influential bands ever. I know i will be recording this, and you might want to do that also. Thats all.

Nirvana is pretty overrated. Good and influential, yeah, but overrated for sure.

I'll grant you that one. Especially because all these idiot people are like, "yeah, I'm listening to grunge, I'm so punk." Plus being on Mtv didn't help their reputation, because Mtv can take any good band, and by featuring their music, turn them into sellouts that never produced anything original in the first place. Now, with Nirvana that is clearly not the case, I just kind of hate Mtv.

I loved MTV, until they stopped airing Celebrity Deathmatch.
But I will tune in for this. Nirvana rocked. |

Kurt was one of the greatest muscicians in the past 30 years, I mean I have respect for all the other largly influental rockers of the past while, Hendrix, Van Halen, Zeppelin, etc. But nothing was ever like Nirvana, these bands can play all the fancy fast notes all they want, impressive, I have respect for their talents. But when someone can play two notes that hit you like a cement wall and can portray an elaborate feeling without saying a word is something amazing. May he rest in peace.
Oh yeah and one more thing, as the Dead Kennedys have preached, GET MTV OF THE AIR!

Wow. Drugs really do help people make crappy music. Look what it did for the beatles.
Kurt Cobain's music sucked. Why worship him? There are other musicians out there that are way better. Go plug a toaster into a boombox and worship away. |
