![]() They live in ghettos. They live on the streets. They live in boxes. Yep, a hobo. Have you ever spared a few cents to a hobo? If so, how much?
I went to Canada and gave a bum a toonie. I felt satisfied for the next 3 days. ![]() |

![]() I agree, its a nice generous thing to do but chances are, 10 other people have bought them food and they have lots of cash in there hat from other generous people. Hobo's are living the highlife really its because they dont use the money to buy things like clothes that we feel sorry for them. Like fastfingers says they will probably use it to buy drugs instead because thats what they do. In my opinion, its useless helping a hobo. Want to give them something useful teach them to cook!

![]() I used to, I see them everyday right by my school, but I don't anymore, especially after I went to NYC and saw a guy holding a sign, that said, "I need money for booze, drugs, and a hooker. But hey, at least I'm not bull****ting you"
Rofl, I always knew it went to that, but I never thought someone would actually say that's why they need money :P |

![]() I bought a hobo a steak dinner once. On a separate occasion I brought a hobo to a bath house and got him a shower and bought him new clothes. Several other times I've given hobos money, anywhere from 10-20 dollars. I've bought hobos 40 ouncers and cigarettes before.
I don't really appreciate all of the hobo hate in this thread, and I'm not even kidding. |

![]() Waco has a huge rate of poverty, and one of the more expensive schools in the country is right smack in the middle of it. I have friends who make light of the homeless situation just outside our "bubble", and it bothers me to no end. Here I am at the largest Baptist university in the country, and these dumbasses in their expensive cars bought by their parents would rather make fun of the less fortunate than spare a few dollars (and nearly all my fellow students have change to spare).
I get irritated at people who automatically assume a homeless person will use handouts for booze, but that's probably because the panhandlers I've dealt with sit around the group of fast food restaurants just off campus. They are trying to get something to eat. I know a lot of people do have substance habits they are trying to fight, but we are talking about people who really can't get any lower, and really -- what are you going to spend that dollar on? PS If you'd like to belittle those less fortunate than you, you can just go suicide now kthx. |
