Christmas Disasters
Sure Christmas is a time for joy and fun but not everyone can enjoy it, take me for example.
This week alone I've endured a car breakdown estimated at $1000, and a breaking and entering. Breakdown: had my breaklines in the front and back both cut out in the middle of traffic a few days ago. For those who drive, picture yourself watching a mob show and the ****ers cut the breaks on someone before they leave home and drive down a hill and then try to break. Awesome? I know. Breaking and entering: Christmas Eve morning, estimated between 12:30am and 1:00am. Went downtown in Montreal for some Christmas fun with two friends. Went to the arcades, had a good laugh, talked for hours, grabbed a bite to eat and when we got back to the car the back passenger window was shattered and nothing was left in the car. Items missing: Mp3 player ($300) , 686 Snowboarding jacket ($500) , Buffalo jacket ($200) Estimated value: $1000 So anyways, my Christmas so far has been quite exciting, unfortunately. Anyone else with bad luck this year?

Re: Christmas Disasters
Yeah, I mean I didn't totally lose all my christmas joy but it's just ridiculous. I still can't believe it. My buddy is still telling me how he has this bad daydream where it's playing over and over.

I had to go to the doctor on christmas eve, followed by going to the hospital for x-rays. Fun day. Still waiting on the results. |

Re: Christmas Disasters
The worst I've got is my grandma, who can't just watch movies. She has to talk the whole way through.
Oh, and point out obvious occurrences just in case anyone missed them. |

Re: Christmas Disasters
I spent the entirety of Christmas day travelling back to Wisconsin from my jewish cousin's wedding so I can get back to work tomorrow, as I am too new at my job to use vacation days, even for the week of Christmas. I opened zero presents, nearly wrecked my car driving in the ice on the way home, and I think I got crabs from one of those damn bridesmaids. The stories about orthodox jewish chicks being all pure and sht is bologna.
EDIT: oh yea, and my mother got engaged to some random ****** while we were down there.

Re: Christmas Disasters
Last year I broke my hand on christmas eve at around midnight or so which made it christmas in essence. My family is just a bunch of douchebags which in turn would lead me to break my hand, I'll leave it at that =D That and all my parents or anyone cared to get me was money, which was fine, but what happened to the thought of gifts? Oh well. Last year sucked.
Oh and they didn't believe it was broken until the day AFTER Christmas when I made them take me to the ****ing doctor.

Re: Christmas Disasters
Worst for me?
My sis lost my DS few months ago. Now my parents bought HER a DS. I told my parents that she still owes me one for losing mine, but parents don't care and defended her. Other than that, everything was fine.

Re: Christmas Disasters
I feel sorry for ya ddr_f4n. I know how sibling rivalry can be.
Well, for Christmas dinner, my step-dad decided to go to the bar instead of eating with us. Big bmmer since we had company over and everything. Aside from that, it's been the best one of my life. |

Re: Christmas Disasters
This thread is so depressing.
I installed a new graphics card on my computer, the driver from the manufacturer's official website (the proper one for my architecture and operating system and everything), and it rewrote my xorg.conf file (for you non-Linux users, this is the file that basically has all the information for Linux to tell your computer to display stuff on the screen), and there were no backups. The result was a 640x480 screen that prevented me from accessing pretty much anything useful (everything outside of the top left quarter of the normal-sized screen I had to go from memory). I ended up reformatting, while trying to get the video card working - the entire Christmas day. Just finished this morning, plus one correctly functioning operating system, minus one brand new video card.

I'm really sorry to hear about this Robby, that's pretty terrible. I hope the rest of your holidays are at least fun.
