Most Popular/Best Playing Style?

What's the best playing style in terms of PA, and just plain getting the notes? Also what is the most popular style? I play index, but I dont know how many other people play.

Spread is clearly the most popular style out there. Personally, I think the vast increase in spread players over the past couple years has ruined FFR a little, but not enough for me to stop playing. I'm an indexer for life, so I heartily support you're playing style. If you get really good at index, you'll find you can PA, if not AAA, many of the spread-intended songs on FFR anyway, which actually feels pretty rewarding. =D Oh, by the way, most one-handers suck. I don't know why that style is so popular among people. XD

Oh, and one more thing-Your poll doesn't really work, as you're asking two questions when voters can only give one answer. >.<

I'm a 1-handed/3finger player, And i must say i am switching to spread to FC (someday AAA) more songs, and play those hard jumpstreams (very difficult and higher songs) But my PA right now is better 1-handed.

And definitly, Spread is more popular.
just cause it's easier to play 4 arrows with 4 fingers (1 arrow per finger) than playing the same number with only 3 (or less for some)

Playing style has little to do with PA. I practically AAAed Secret Zombie Room with one finger, and that was a sightread (I got about 3 or 4 Goods in the streams, but the jumps were the most goods, just because I was using one finger). It's possible to be accurate with any playing style, you as a player just have to increase your accuracy.

As for the most popular playing style..... spread seems to be dominating the poll, but it doesn't seem to be the most outspoken playing style. One-handers seem to boast their playing style the most often, probably because it takes much more for them to equal the talent of a spread player.

I play 3 fingers on right hand, 1 finger on left hand.

I switch between playing styles, actually. I usually play:

Left Index on Left
Right Index on Down
Right Middle on Up
Right Fourth Finger on Right

However, I've noticed that my PA greatly increases if I use the Index style on regular jumpstreams, and if I use spread on jump streams. So I've learned to use all styles, and I sometimes switch them around. My index is a little different, too, because I only index regular notes, I always use whatever finger's around to help me do jumps on index.

I play index, I have not been with FFR for too long so my opinion dosn't much matter but it seems to me that playing with anything besides the 4 arrow keys is kind of defeating the purpose of the game, but that's just me. I know a one-hander guy who thinks playing index is the equivalent of playing DDR with a controller.

Fourth Finger? As a musician I'm assuming fourth finger is the pinky, which would incredibly awkward and weak. I think your meaning third finger.

Okay. I ACTUALLY PLAY NUMEROUS STYLES and I actually just started one more today.

I don't play spread, most often. I play 4-fingered, middle/ring from right hand, index/middle from left hand. I find spread really difficult; it didn't help when I practiced/switched.

4-fingered for almost everything.

Index for songs with lots of jumps (switching back to 4-fingered if it's not all jumps)

One hand/3-fingered for songs with mostly eighth or easier stream (200bpm-) - I was a one hander for 3 or 4 years

One hand/2-fingers when I'm bored - I can do this just almost well as one hand/3-fingered for what I use that for (but I can also do 16th streams/jumpstreams with 3-fingered)

Spread... I find that spread and index are the most popular of styles... IMO, index is actually better for 75% of songs... If there is no jumpstream, then index>spread, because you can more easily control your hands... Spread sucks at trills, runningmen, and jacks... Index makes you good at all three of them. Oh-- and index pwns fast stream.

you are basically just asking people which style they have played the most with... i have played most with spread so i am better with spread... index is pretty damn fun too though but i have speed issues with it... and one handed for me is all for showing off to my newbie friends :P

I've played spread ever since my first game on FFR.

It came naturally right away before I ever even knew the style existed.

Consequently, my vote goes to spread.
