So I got a demo of FL Studio 7 and I was messin' around in it, when I remembered that your 'spose to be able to load Midi files and listen/change them in the editor. I have plenty of those laying around so I loaded one up.
My problem is, I canthear a dang thing at all. It seems to play since the notes scroll but I hear absolutly nothing. what can I do to fix this? |

Options => MIDI Settings => Change "Port Number" to "0".
Should solve it. If not, I'll try again.

Make sure that you loaded the midi into the piano roll of a sampler or synth as well. Stupid I know, but what can I say, I'm stupid.

You might be in song mode and want to export the pattern or vice versa.

Wont work regardless. I've tried it in pattern and song mode.
Plus I cant get it to take to a change. If I load a midi up and change pitch, it will go pack to it's oringinal picth as soon as the song starts/stops. It's probably just me being the extreme n00b rofl. Gonna play with it some more later tonight |

MIDI file contain only the notes telling your sound card what to play, not actual sounds themselves.
You need to copy and paste the notes in the piano roll from the MIDIout channel into a generator channel (3xOsc, etc.) The pitch knob resets because it's basically automated the full length of the track from MIDI. To change pitch just move the piano roll note.

take a screenshot of what your layout looks like while you're trying to play a pattern/song and post it here, that might help.

If you're having so much trouble with it, why don't you just uninstall, and then reinstall (after all, you only have the demo, so it won't be hurting anything).
Yeah, it's a last resort move, but it's a guaranteed fix, haha.

if that happens all you have to do is restart fl studios because its a demo it wont save any previous settings and like i said if you want to be able to edit a midi load it then save it as a midi then upload it again and now you should be able to do what you want with it
