Angry How are people so pro

So yeah, I started playing Stepmania/FFR and I'm almost getting owned on the "Easy" rated ones, and the "Standard" ones, I completely get chopped due to a huge spaz of arrows.

Going on multiplayer, and playing on a "Very Difficult" setting, I died within the first 5 seconds (50 arrows just flew past, I was like WTF DO I PRESS), while I watch the other person get "PerfectPerfectPerfectPerfect", and end up with combos of 70s.

HOW THE HELL DO YOU EVEN KNOW WHAT TO PRESS??? There's just ARROWS EVERYWHERE. Its like DDULRDLR and I'll probably be going DDULWHAT? Care to share any secret techniques?

use speed mods. It spaces the arrows out more so you can read harder songs

Speed mods do help, I cant explain why, but my flight of the bumblebee rank went up 5000 in just one go after i switched to 1.25 full time, and that is starting to look too slow, i'm thinking of learning 1.5.

DDULWHAT? => !!!!

Just play all the easiest songs until you can FC them (not all of them can be easily FC'd though, like 100 bar blackout....), and then start playing harder songs, FC them and just keep doing that until you play like a god and can AAA FMO and FGO songs .
Speed mods really help on the hardest songs or if want to AAA a song.

That's actually the best thing you can do, a newbie won't ever pass a FGO song so he only needs practice.

@OP:Practice makes Perfect. Ive been playing for years to get were I'm at

Guys, speed mods come later. When I started DDR/Sm about 3 years ago I used 1X

Now on FFR, I use 2X (c600) cuz Ive been playing for so long and players seem to adjest to faster settings. On DDR It's all 1.5 to 3X, and on SM I gotta go with whatever makes it 500 =)

c600 works well, too

When I started I played songs that were like lvl 10-14 and played it for a month on stepmania (fail off of course XD) and when i felt it were getting easy i played on challenge.
It can be boring but it really helps

i have a few stratagys (i played DDR, ITG and SM since it came out)

1.) to increase reaction time use speed mods, the sudden mod, or screen cut
2.) to increase PA (perfect accuracy) use the hidden mod or dark mod
3.) practice alot

not much i can say really ;/
