Default Re: Suggestion (MISS/BOO MERGE)

Um...as it stands, you lose 310 for a miss and 20 for a boo, and get 100 points for each step in your combo.

While this does allow for something like mashing to be a successful way to get a high combo and thus a high score, that is a fundamental design decision that they made to differentiate the game and its scoring system from other similar games.

Calling a boo a miss doesn't actually change anything, increasing the point penalty for a boo to equal that of a miss would completely destroy the feasibility of mashing, especially since a boo counting as a miss would also break your combo.

But since a legitimate, accurate FC of a song will always score higher than a mashed FC of a song, there's no real reason to make such a change.

If you lost no points for boos at all, there would be a problem since you could mash your way to the top scores, instead of the top scores of people who aren't good enough to just hit the arrows cleanly.

So what you're trying to say is that boos should be combo breakers?
Hah, I believe it use to be that way. How about not?
You aren't going to get a "good" rank with a mashed score, anyway.

Compare -20 points per boo in FFR to -no penalty whatsoever- on pretty much every other similar game...

See there's your problem. Instead of ignoring, you should gain the supernatural power to reach through computer screens and slap people.
