![]() My computer or keyboard has a problem when I have to press 3 or 4 arrows at the same time. This isn't a problem in FFR because I'm probably never going to play Vertex Beta vROFL, but I also play Stepmania; some stepfiles in stepmania require you to press 3 or more arrows at the same time.
The problem is that my computer or keyboard (I'm pretty sure its the computer) does not register that I hit 3 or more arrows if I hit them all at once. For example if a quad comes up, and I hit my fingers on all 4 arrows at the same time, my computer will make a stupid beep noise and will only register 1 or 2 of the taps, thus causing misses. Anyone know of a solution to this problem? btw I'm using windows 2000, if that's significant to this problem. |

![]() Stepmania lets you map your keys. Learn spread and use 4 keys that are separated from each other, such as 'as kl'.

![]() As for FFR, try using AutoHotKeys. This thread should help you get it setup: http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/...ad.php?t=41727

![]() If for some reason you don't want to try spread (I recommend you do), you can always just remap the keys in SM to another set in a similar shape. You should be able to press more than two keys at once that way.
For instance, if you set Up-Down-Left-Right to be O-L-K-; then you would have the same shape as the arrow keys, just in a different position. Your computer should recognize more than two of these keys being hit at once. |

![]() Are you using a laptop? Then, that's the problem. Laptops only register 2 out of every 4 button presses of the arrow keys... So if you hit 4 at the same time, it will only register 2. Use the hotkey setup in sm to solve that one, and use autohotkey in FFR to solve that one. Hope that helped.

![]() Thanks for the replies everyone.
From what you guys have said, I assume that making my computer register 3 or more hits of the arrow keys is either really difficult or impossible. Also, computers will register hitting more than 2 keys as long as not more than 2 of those keys are of the arrow keys? This is why switching the spread will solve this problem, yes? Right now, I play 4 fingers on the arrow keys, so switching to spread shouldn't be that difficult. Lastly, I'm playing on a desktop, not a laptop. |

![]() Alright then, that's cool. Switching to spread seems to be the best idea; I sometimes miss an arrow because I hit my other finger anyways. Thanks for all the info; I love how people here are so helpful.
