How do I get BG's and BN's to show up in stepmania?

Ok, here's the deal. I make simfiles, and I've been trying to make banners and backgrounds. When it says save as, I save it in a song file beside the song and the .sm file. But the, when I play it on stepmania, the BG and BN don't show up! I don't get it... someone please help!!!

The bg must contain the following:

song name-bg.(whatever file type you are using, preferably png.) As the file name

The banner must be somply, the name of the song.
