how long did it take for you to change playing styles?

im j/w, its taking awhile for me to be better at spread than index. could the time it take might also be related with how good you are at index? changing from one hand to index seemed extremely quick, in a matter of a few songs.

took me about 3 weeks to get better spread scores than my previous index scores. lol. and i don't think it's related much to how good you are at index. i was a bad indexer, but i became a pretty good spread player quickly. oh and from one-hand to index, i also got better instantly like you (a matter of minutes)

It took me like two months. However, I never played index. I played 4-fingers with the arrow keys using my ring finger, and middle finger. fyi, I've never heard of anyone else who has played that style.

I was actually pretty good at it too. 20 Perfects on -Joe's- Uber Rave, 20 Perfects on Zaghurim's Megaman 3 Final Boss, etc. Heck, I still can't beat those scores playing spread, but I can get a lot better cores on harder stuff.

played one hand until 0.80 something like that gone spread first attempt gave up very quick

after a while gone spread again like if i played a song i played it 1 hand and then spread
the 50%-50% styles was like a week and then was full spread taken a month

now i know 2 styles each has its up and downs

It took me about 3 months to get back to where I was one handed when I switched to spread, 3 months after that I started getting my really good PA back, and Now I can AAA stuff I never dreamed about one-handed.

Your poll askes how long it took to go from spread to index. I've always been spread, but I picked up index in about three or four days.

Though I don't that that's what you were asking XD

I play Ring finger and Middle finger on my right hand, since it accounts for the angle of the arrow keys for that hand. Index and middle on left.

I played index for well over a year, and it took me about 2 weeks to start getting a lot better scores on spread. A month after switching my Avrank dropped from 800 to 350.

But I'm still better at streams (VB, Rose, Blaze) and trills (FotBB, JRB) playing index.
I can't PA streams spread for my life.

i had only played 3fingerd 1 handed for a bout a month before i switched to spread so it only took me about a week and a half to see great improvements in all my scores

i agree

i played index on SMO until i quit
and when i came back all the megapacks had nothing but spread files
so i was like
wtf
ok....
time to play spread

Took about 3 weeks to get past my 3-finger scores, well actually instantly I was able to beat them, just had bad accuracy and stamina on everything in the first 3 weeks then I've gotten way better since that.
