i got 'em on yesterday, i hate em they suck sssssoooo badly. they rub against your lips, which hurts, and there sore for like a week, which hurts.

You'll grow used to them, I just got mine off maybe a year ago. It felt so weird without them on. It takes about a week for the pain to die down from when they're just put on, then you go 2 months and it's tightened. Pain for a week then you're fine.

Actually a week or less.

Anyway for special tips I just advise you to wear your elastics when you get them, cause if you don't you're going to have them for 1-2 more years, no joke, my friend got them off like 2 years after me cause he didn't wear them and we got them at the same time with the same condition going in.

Pansy, did you have spacers?! They hurt like 50X more than the braces themselves, which don't hurt at all....ever...unless they're partially ripped off..eeee..bad memories...

Lol just kidding. But I've lived through braces, retainers, spacers, I got 7 teeth pulled, and one surgically removed, and I can tell you that you will be GLAD you got them on, in the long run. I know it doesn't seem like it, and I know that they're hell, but I have a nice as hell smile from my braces...in fact, my last two girlfriends said the thing that initially attracted me to them was my smile. So in the long run, take care of them.

Also, dont' listen to the bullshit they tell you about not being able to eat anything...the only thing you can't eat are huge blocks of pure caramel, and certain types of gum. Chips? Chocolate? Gum? Popcorn? I ate all of it for the 2 1/2 years I had my braces on, and never had one problem relating to it. Trust me, you'll be fine as long as you don't do something universally stupid like...rip them off or something.

i had them, some good advantages, like scratching aluminium. anyway, your dentist is a piece of shit, eat whatever you want. the only thing i had trouble with is when one of my braces fell off from eating fun-dip. yeah, its odd.

I had braces and they didn't hurt...they hurted like for a couple hours and then it stop....now I have a retainer.

I have braces.
I get them tightened once a month, sure it's hell for about a week but I (eventually) got used to them. After the initial week after tightening the only thing you have to worry about is the fact that you look like the uber dork.

Yeah, tightening can be either pretty shitty, or like REALLY fucking shitty. But meh, take some asprin and you'll be fine.

and sephiroth's right.. the spacers hurt WAAAAAAAAAAAAY more than the braces. not 50x worse, since it's easier to get used to braces, not rubber bands stuck between your teeth, more like 100x worse. (yet again) ESPECIALLY WHEN THEY CONTINUALLY FALL OUT AND PROLONG THE SPACER PERIOD

why is my life so fuckd up?

oh, and you wanna know whats really pleasant? it's just a fuckin walk in the park when you have sharp edges left on your braces AND you have like 3 canker (sp?) sores in the places where the metal points are sticking out. it's fun as hell, try it
